your maid of honor was planning your bachelorette party, and suddenly she can't make it on that day?
My maid of honor is planning my bachelorette party. We can't pick a date when all my BMs can make it, but we set a date when she could make it and also when another BM I want there can. Today my MH tells me that her whole family was invited to a birthday celebration on the date of my bachelorette party so it would look bad if she misses it. She doesn't want to miss my bachelorette party either. If I switch the date to accomodate her, the other BM that I wanted to attend has to miss the bachelorette party bec she's going away.
I have to choose between the 2 of them now. What would you do in my shoes?

I would keep it the date you have already decided on if the plans are set in motion. If they really havent been set in motion then maybe change it totally to a different time when both can do it

depending on how far the planning has gotten, i'd say keep it. is your MOH asking you to change the date?

I would keep the date the same and ask her to meet up with you guys afterwards if it is somewhere local. That way she can attend both parties.

This is a tough one.. Is this party really something she can't miss? Can she go to the bparty for a little and meet up with you and your Bms?

Re: What would you do if....
I had the same problem with my b-party and having all the girls show. I ended up having to plan my party 2 months before the wedding. I really wanted all my girls there, so I kept on searching and searching for a date that could have accomodated everyone. if I had time to play around with, I would keep on looking at dates even if it's a bit far in advance just to make sure everyone was there.-JMO

keep the date.
not to sound b*tchy---but birthdays come every year--your bach. party is 1 time. i think your bach. party trumps a bday party that her family is going to...i'm sure the bday person would understand that its your bach. party!

I think you should stick with the original date. Your MOH can pop along to birthday party to say hello then come and meet the rest of your party. Surely the birthday person would understand why she couldn't stay long when its your batchelorette party!!

Re: What would you do if....
I say keep the date and if the bday party is local MOH needs to play a dual role and show her face at the bday party for a hot minute and then link up with you and the girls later. your never going to accomodate everyone 100% sacrifices need to be made. you only get married once!

i would keep the date. i would also explain to your MOH that it would mean a lot if she came. can she go to the birthday party first and then come to your bachelorette party?

Re: What would you do if....
Keep the date you orignially had. Maybe you and your MOH can do something seperate another day- something that is personally special to both you and her. (Maybe a resturant you both really love or a day of shopping, a day at a spa, etc?)
