I would prefer her not to, but thats just me. I know its silly and i am a very laid back bride, but i do feel the bride should be the only one in white. I would never even think of wearing white to someones wedding
This. exactly.

Re: What would you do if..
I would never think of wearing a white/ivory gown to anyones wedding and I hope my guests feel the same way.
If someone asked permission I would probably ask to see the gown first - If it's half white and half colored I probably wouldn't have a problem but if it's mainly white then absolutely not!

Re: What would you do if..
gina - I am in the same sitch! my bro's gf has a dress her mom bought her for our wedding... its white with ruffles. ummm... honestly, if I saw someone at my wedding wearing white, I wouldn't care much, becuase I am already there and theres nothing i can do about it anyway, but since I KNOW now she is wearing this dress - I feel a little on the fence about it. I really think that I am leaning to the point of saying something.
IMO - i would never wear white to a wedding... but thats me.. other people feel differently obviously. I would probably bring it up casually and say something to the effect of - traditionally only the bride is supposed ot be in white etc...
edit for horrendous typing haha

Re: What would you do if..
I don't think it's appropriate. I would stay away from any dresses with white or ivory in them for a wedding. Especially that it's your brother's gf and not any other guest, so she may be in a lot more pictures.
She asked for your opinion so she probably knows that it may be an issue. Just kindly say that you would prefer her not to or tell her to do 'whatever she feels is right'- kind of a nice way of saying no!

NO Gina. It i not about being laid back or a bridezilla. EVERYONE KNOWS THIS RULE. Honestly, people will be talking about 'the girl wearing white' all night and probably forever.. so tell your brother your sparing her a lot of judgement and dirty looks.

I went to a wedding where the Mother of the Groom wore Ivory. I'm still in awe when I see the pics. I feel like it was such a passive aggressive yet obvious move and slap in the face!
omg - i was looking through a potential photog's books and saw a pic with 2 women in white gowns, i asked if it was a double wedding and he said that the MOB wore a white gown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
edit because i forgot to answer the question - no way! no one else should be wearing something that is so white that it would be considered 'white with flowers.' obv in a print some white is allowable but white should never be the first word used to describe it.

Re: What would you do if..
I might consider wearing one if I didn't like the bride Even then I wouldn't be able to go through with it, it's a known NO-NO. I'd ask her nicely if she'd reconsider the color...you should be the only one wearing white.

I have no idea what my FMIL is wearing, but if she shows up in something like that, it is totally obvious to the guests what a nasty move that is. and our limited contact will be noooo contact.
It is! If someone wore white to my wedding I would have the DJ make fun of them all night, it looks SO bad when two ppl are wearing 'mostly white'

I would slap her. If you don't know wedding etiquette stay the hell home. I have lost all patience for retards in this wedding process. I have turned into a monster so this is only my opinion. But really...wth why would anyone even consider wearing anything damn near close to white. SMH
