My parents are paying for about 90% of the wedding since FH and I are saving for a house. FH's Dad & Stepmom mentioned to us and my parents that they want to help pay for the wedding. They made a formal announcement over dinner one night. They insisted and asked that we tell them how much we need. Totally Sweet!
So now that we are really getting on with our planning, when do we approach them about an amount? My mom offered to call to discuss it, is that appropriate? Should FH approach them, or do we wait for them to mention it again? My mom wouldn't ask for a penny more than the photog and limos. (Just a little help)
Any suggestion

Re: What would you do? W/ Poll
I think the best thing is for FH to approach them...Its better when it is coming from someone you are very close to...Other than that they might feel they are put on the spot or embarassed that they haven't said anything and might get defensive because of that. I am sure FH knows better how to approach his parents

I would let your FH approach them. Money issues can be sticky so it would be best coming from him. He can mention what the money is needed for.

I always have FH talk to his parents.

I think your FH should approach them alone.

my in laws paid for all of our vendors- but never did I talk to them about details- it was generous of them...and I didn't want to get involved with the discussions, it was more appropriate coming from DH ...
