We were disappointed in out DJ. The last min the company changed the MC on us and the DJ b/c they fired their MC.
I gave them a must play list.. They played some but not all and played some obscure songs that no one heard of before.
They didnt' play the Tarantella or any Italian songs at all!! Whish was very important to me!!!! They played a few Irish songs for DH.
I ordered 4 hands outs.. they only handed out 2...so that's money that we spend on the hand outs that never got handed out!!!
Overall very disappointed in them...

Re: What would you do with poll
If you were unhappy you should definately complain- they may do something for you because it doesnt sound like you got some of the things that you paid for. good luck

I would ask for the money back for the handouts that they never gave out. I think you should tell them about your concerns.

Re: What would you do with poll
i would ask to get the money back for the handouts - its probably a minimal amount but its still something you wanted and paid for that you didnt get.....id also let them know how disappointed you were....i wouldnt come off as aggresive though, but id def let them know i was not happy with their services

Re: What would you do with poll
I would ask for $$ back on the handouts. I would go in person and discuss what bothered you, maybe in the interest of you not giving them a bad name(via friends, LIW etc) you will get some $$ back..its worth a shot sorry this happened hun!

I would also ask for the money back on the handouts and a partial refund of what you paid for their services. It is unfair that you and your DH paid for a service that you didnot received. Do you have copies of your contract where your must play list is listed? If do you, bring that when you go and meet with them. Music (at least to me) is one of the major things that makes or breaks the reception and if you were dissapointed you should definitely go and speak to them.

I don't see why you shouldn't write them a letter. You paid for a service and specific things and you didn't get it. Did you say anything to them that night to play the songs you asked for? If so, thats even worse that they didn't do it!

Re: What would you do with poll
Wow... I cant believe you posted this! I am in the exact same situation with one of my vendors. They really didn't deliver what was in our contract, and we didnt know if we should give them hell, send them an FYI email or let it slide.
I really dont want them to do the same thing to other brides and dont want to let it slide, so I think we will send more of an FYI email.... like... look what happened to us, if you didnt know you should, and i hope you dont let this happen to anyone else. and see what they do from there...

I think you should def. let them know your concerns and ask for a refund on the handouts they didn't hand out.
I'm sorry you're going through this....but don't let it slide.

i've learned that if you don't speak up, you'll never know. what's the worse case...you say something and don't get any refund? then you're no better off, but at least you're at peace with knowing you did all you could.
i'm sorry you're disappointed and congrats!

Re: What would you do with poll
I would definitely give them the feedback and ask for some sort of compensation. You paid for services you didn't recieve.
Also, I understand that they fired the MC but they should have reviewed everything about your wedding w/ the replacement.

Write them a letter. I can email you a letter my DH wrote to a DJ company once - it's not related to your incident but it can give you a starting off point...
We were able to get our money back.
If you were unhappy, tell them.

Re: What would you do with poll
i had the same problem!! they never gave away my centerpices until the end of the night when i reminded them
than i had to remind them to announce the slipper basket
than i had to remind them to annouce 18 and older the for the bouquet toss
and the dinner singer!! ugh where do i begin!
i never thought to count the hand outs but he had the kids hand them out and they kept them for themselves!

Re: What would you do with poll
I had a similar problem with my band. Some songs we requested were not played, and other similar era, sounding songs were played instead - and I didn't know why. I emailed my band today and asked, and the guy said it was because some of the songs we requested were to be sung by the guitar player, but he had bronchitis, and thus couldn't sing as much. I understand that but wish he told me up front, before the wedding. (Well, maybe it would have bothered me more because I would be thinking about it ... not sure.) BUT, there were other songs sung by the regular singer that were not sung, but other similar ones were instead .. so ... that explanation isn't COMPLETELY satisfactory ... but what they did play, they did a phenominal job with ... so ... I am not that disappointed. A little, though, because we picked this band because they played certain songs and those songs were not played.

I agree with the girls here... I would definitely tell them. I would tell them in person...I think there's more of a chance of them doing something for you-they can ignore a letter but they can't ignore you sitting in front of them....
Sorry this happened to you!!! Good luck

I would definitely write a letter letting them know that they didn't fulfill their end of the contract. You should definitely be compensated in some way for it.
