We were going to do this...but then I heard you just get checks for the money people give you. It's all lumped together....not broken out by gift. I think the prices of things, airfare, etc. are all just estimations.

I'm pretty sure thats the case...?

But if it were me I'd get a dinner or excursion.

Nope.

I'd do either a massage and/or a dinner...depending on how much each cost and how much i wanted to spend

from what i understand, although guests will technically 'buy' an item, the couple receives the monetary equivalent for this money and they can spend it any way they want on their honeymoon

OK I have a honeymoon registry and this is how it works....you can buy whatever you want for her...in the end she gets a check for the entire amount of things purchased on the registry. So it doesnt matter! But ofcourse you do want to personalize!

So far I have gotten 2 $60 towards horseback riding. I also am hoping for massages and/or nail treatments!

Lastly...I do plan on taking the excursions and using the money what it was intended for. BUT not everyone does that :(

Yes...and she has to book all her excursions herself. That is how mine works and most of e other ones too. (Mine is honeymoonwishes.com).

Also, as soon as you make the purchase...she will get an email saying what she got and who bought it!

You should have the option to print out a card that says what you got and you can send to her.

Ok i received a shower invitation and only place she is registered is for a honeymoon registry. I am trying to figure out what to get.

Some of the options are: breakfast, lunch, dinner, massage, manicure, shopping, honeymoon travel airfare plus upgrade to 1st class flight, upgrade to a suite at the hotel well one of them bc they are going to 2 locations, i think 2nd location same thing though. Rental car, sightseeing at specific places, cocktails at a bar, and tons more stuff like this.

I never bought anyone anything off a honeymoon registry. I dont think i'd do the airfare, or upgrade but MAYBE dinner or something like that and something else similar i guess.

What would you do? what would you want to get? or what would you feel comfortable giving?

btw for those who don't know, it looks the same way a regular registry does. So lets say you picked airfare it will show : wished for 10 still needs 10 and price shows $100, so you can buy 1 which is $100 towards airfare or however many you want. Same with other things such as dinner it will say wished for 4 and its at lets say $50 each.

I think that sightseeing or adventures are cool things to give.....I'm assuming that people who make a HM registry are tight on money and if you think of it, maybe they wouldn't go an adventures because they can't afford it....if that's the case, then that would be a great gift to give them!

she wold have to pay the balance to finish the upgrade same thing with your regular registries.. if something isnt bought you will ahve buy it yourself

if you pay for dinner or massage, at least it is paid for

if you give them $100 of Euro; the value will be different everyday - unless that doesnt matter to you

yeah good point, alot im not realizing tonight lol. I just looked and theres also a HM contribution one that is in american dollars but yeah nevermind ill stick with an item. Ill just ask FH what i should get and see what he says and pick whatever since its all given as one lump sum anyways

I also did a honeymoon registry, and I guess I can't speak for how all of them work but mine listed gifts like you described (massages, excursions, upgrades etc) but in the end we just get the value of the gifts. I do plan on using the money for the same sort of things but its really just so the guests don't feel like they are just handing over a check.

i did have a friend say she couldnt decide and went with the 'boring money contribtion option' so in my thank you i told her that I enjoyed straight cash just as much as fake presents which are really just cash anyway

As for my shower, it actually went really well--my mom and girls made it a honeymoon themed shower-We are going to Mexico-so we had different types margaritas anda make your own taco bar. I had some actual gifts to open,and yes a lot of cards but some people did cute things like bought a tapas tray and then gave us mole sauces with the card, or candlesticks for a candlelit dinner.

I would assume she would have to pay for the rest to get the full upgrade.
