FH and I were invited to a wedding in Vail, Colorado. We couldn't afford to go, as the trip to their wedding would have cost us more than our own wedding reception. This couple is soooooooo rich. I'm talking an heir to a fortune rich. Pre-Nuptuial rich. Never have to work rich. I'm sure their wedding gifts were in the thousands from individual people. We feel silly sending our little old check to them and want to get them something special. I can't find her registry anywhere...
They will definitely be coming to our wedding.
What would you give them?
TIA Erin

Re: What would you give??
They may be wealthy but like all people they will appreciate a gift. I would just send a nice card with a check. Since you are not attending the wedding any amount would be appreciated. If you want to send a gift check out tiffany.com they have some pretty candlestick holders and bowls that are not too much. I think that blue box is universal for putting a smile on someones face.

why cant you ask her for her registry info?

That's a tough one. I would have to agree with you about sending money under the circumstances. Wow! I would say get a hold of her and see where she's registered.

See, I am kind of skittish about sending checks or gift cards out. I prefer to get a gift and send that than have someone know what I've spent, even though it's sometimes not hard to find out what someone spent.
I think the Tiffany's idea is great. My stock wedding gift is a Lenox china vase that I get at the outlets (Tanger in Riverhead for one, or Potomac Mills down here in VA). It's a classic gift that can always be used. This isn't it, but similar:

Depends on how well you know the couple...but I would definitely give them a little more of what they would have spent on you and your FH. Then again, it's the thought that counts...

Re: What would you give??
just give from the heart. They might be wealthy, but they also don't expect everyone to give gifts from harry winston.... Friendships are about companionship, not $$$
I agree with others.... really pretty vase or candle sticks from tiffany's, or something along those lines, is a sweet sentiment, and would fit in even in the most outragoues home
or even better, something that has a common memory with both you and them.... maybe a gorgeous picture frame with a picture of the two couples together? or something that vaguely refers to an inside joke between you all?
