What would you say to your MOH if..

You finally get to tell her the good news about your engagment, and she tells you your ring looks like a Grandma ring. My MOH and I have been talking abaout this day since we were kids, I know she is just probably jealous but she really hurt me. What is she going to say about my dress. Should I just pick another MOH, and that part is very hard!!!! She said she does not look good in the color pink, and my theme is pink and sage.
Normally, this wouldnt bother me but we are such good friends? Why?????

Some people are just tactless. I have 2 girlfriends with the 'foot in mouth' syndrome, who always say hurtful things because they're just saying what they think or they're trying to be funny. Or sometimes, they're just trying to be mean, and I'm sure others are out of jealousy. Girls are so catty sometimes.

I'm sorry she said that to you but ignore her .. this is your happy moment.

one of my bridesmaids is also acting the same way she keeps telling me things like are you sure 'marriage is forever' I realized she was saying this because she was a little jealous I know she is happy for me but she is going through that 'why you and not me I'm older phase' -she is also celebrating a birthday (over 35) and she is still single so I think that might have something to do with it...

Ladies you are correct this is the time you find out who your true friends are. Family is working better than anyone, and they always will.

she probably feels very close to you and is not afraid to express her opinion. I have a friend who I've known since I was 3 and I sometimes I get foot in mouth syndrome when it comes to her wedding. She's like a sister to me, but I have to keep reminding myself that's she's my friend and I shouldn't be so opinionated.

Don't take it to heart too much, she will end up wearing whatever you tell her to.

I'm sorry you are going through this. I think she is jealous too. If it was me I would confront her and let her know that she hurt my feelings. If she is a true friend, she will apologize. As for the dresses...maybe you can compromise. LaurenluvsTJ had beautiful dresses in sage/pink. Good luck!

Also- if I can offer one piece of advice. Truly enjoy your engagement perod --- it goes sooooo fast and you only get to do this once!!!! Do not let anyone ruin your happiness!
