what wouldn't you pay...

what wouldn't you pay...

For flowers?

I've read many florist quotes on here and some seem a little pricey, but most seem to be around the 2k mark, which I assume is average?

It seems that many people are getting a lot for that price and I'm wondering what's really the difference from florist to florist?

I know there's a price difference between type of flower, whether they're in season or not, high and low centerpieces, how many people in your bridal party, etc.

I need this flower thing explained to me since I don't know what I should be asking

Some guidance ladies and thank you!

Honestly its typically a LOT cheaper if you stay away from the 'wedding' florists and go to a local flower shop.

I went to a local florist, got great pricing, my pricing doesn't change for type of flower he told me anything I want I can have included in price ad long as it's available at my date(which April 29 is practically may) so he said pretty much anything I can get. Also it depends on how many people bc my pricing was based on how many of each thing I needed. Plus by booking early I was able to avoid inflation of pricing( which means that over time places begin to charge more, but if u lock it in now they can't charge u higher pricing later)

About inflation, my RH offered to take $50 off each plate price if I had my wedding in 2011 instead of 2012

We're having large, in-season flowers. Hidden Essence was one of the very few that I contacted that offered low prices. Even though she's not a 'local florist' She does AMAZING work!! We're going to see our sample centerpiece on Saturday, I will have to post the pictures :)

This is definitely true. I got the exact same quote from one of the most popular florists on here and a 'local' florist - but I got a lot more from the local florist and much more personalized service

We paid less than $2k. I could never justify that much on flowers (then again I'm not a huge flower person).

Check out Flower Barn in Seaford-- they are very reasonable.

Thanks for all your input ladies. I saw someone on wednesday and have read RAVE reviews about her, but also read she can get expensive. I definitely want beautiful flowers, but don't want to spend an arm and a leg doing so

I thought this as well, but one local florist quoted me almost double what I am paying.. You really need to make a couple appointments and see what works best for you, but first figure out your budget

I paid 2k for flowers, yet didn't receive everything I paid for. And I went with my hall's recommended florist.

I'd say go with someone with a proven track record and IMO someone whose apart of this site. The only vendor I didn't use from LIW was the only vendor to screw up big time for me

Mine are around $4K

I think we paid around $3K for flowers and we got a sh*t ton of flowers LOL

I wasnt really into them in the beginning but after meeting w/ out florist it quickly become an obsession of mine and i was SOOO excited to see everything day of.

I had a larger BP (8 girls with 2 MOH's and 5 guys)... We did medium height, pedastal vases which had to be purchsaed by the florist so that added up....

We used Mike and Flower Barn - probably my favorite vendor. He just got it - he totally knew what i was going for and I trusted him 100% to go w/ my vision and he did.

At the end he added a flower arrangement on the bar - I literally said 1 thing that I wanted in it so I had no idea what it would look like and it was STUNNING!!!!

Our budget was $2500 for flowers but even that we didnt want to spend. We were able to get everything for a little under $2k from Designs By Rose - highly recommend!

While I LOVED my flowers, reading this thread is making me utterly depressed. We paid A LOT for our very beautiful flowers...but A LOT is the key phrase.....upwards of 5K.

I'm getting 20 low centerpieces, bridal bok, BMs, 14 bouts, 2 Mother boks, etc... paying around $2500. It depends on flowers and what you are getting.
