I'm going to a shower April 2nd and don't feel like doing the generic getting something off the registry...Any good ideas? I already suggested to the bridal party the candle poem with candles and monogrammed towels...

I set my friend up with a honeymoon kit..we got her a great beach bag..and a gift certificate to the mall for bathing suit..underwater cameras..flip flops, manicure/pedi gift certificate, she loved it

this takes time- but to collect things for holidays like chrismas towels and thanksgiving pot holders , christmas ornaments maybe an easter decoration - stuff like that - people dont really think about that stuff.

i always like to get something to pamper just the bride - I got my girlfriend a silk kimono/bathrobe that she is in love with.

I did a thank you basket for my girlfriend. I made all the labels for her thank you's (for the shower, got the addresses from the shower organizer) attched them with stamps to thank you's and enclosed a bride 's guide to thank you's. It was a big hit and she said it was a huge time saver!!!

A couple things we got that I loved: DH's sister got us a gift box from the Spice House in Milwaukee (where they are from). It had tons of different spices and I loved it. It had different blends of spices for chicken, beef, chip dip, etc. It was neat the way it was boxed too- everything's in jars in a box full of basil leaves and cinnamon sticks. They have a site- Spice House
We also got a huge gift basket full of Ghiradelli chocolates that was great. It had lots of variety- cookies, bars, cocoa, etc. It was from a friend in Australia and he probably ordered it online.
I think any kind of food-themed thing is cool. For example, if they like coffee, make a basket with different kinds of coffee and biscotti and flavored syrups and cool mugs.

I always like to get the personalized blankets for people from Things Rememebered, or an album that I get engraved with 'XX's Bridal Shower' and the date...

I like the food theme too. You coudl do a Mexican theme - Margarita glasses, margarita mixes, special salt for the glasses, chip bowl, etc.
I always love to give a little lingerie I gave one friend a nightie with a book on sensual massage and some kinds of massage oil.
Also...people love this one - I bought my aunt an ironing board and dressed it up like a girl - a mop for hair, apron for dress, pot holders for hands with a feather duster in one, strainer was a face, measuring spoons as earrings, etc, etc. It's a little difficult to transport, but it's so cute!

If they celebrate Christmas, Terry's Village has a bridal ornament set. I got this and loved it. They are nice sized ornaments and not small. Terry's Village
We also received the mini-Precious Moments Nativity, which is adorable and it was my favorite gift. It also has add on pieces which we've begun to collect over the last 3 years.

A great a unique gift I loved was someone took a huge picnic basket, filled it with nice plates, glasses, silverware, napkins, napkin rings, wine and candles. It was a huge hit!
