My mom told me crocheting is easier for her. So far I have only tried knitting. I got the book 'I taught myself to knit' for xmas from my brother and I taught myslef! I still don't do it the right way I can't hold both needles.. I rest one on my stomach, hold on in my left hand and hold the yarn only in my right hand. Much easier and faster for me this way. I want to try crocheting also but not yet! I don;t want to confuse myself until I learn knitting a little better.

i haven't done it in a LONG time but i used to know how to crochet - knitting didn't work for me

I think crocheting is easier, it goes much faster... I used to knit like julz said she does, with it resting on my stomach... but my mom tought me the proper way this vacation, and now it goes pertty quick, but i'm much faster with crocheting, I personally think i't smuch easier and faster. also if you mess up, it's a lot easier to fix.

UGH...I hope I'm doing it right....stupid me bought dark colored yarn! I've only done the first chain and hopefully I can get some width into it without screwing it up!

i'm gonna go with crocheting. i learned to knit when i was little b/c my g-ma taught me. but for some reason, it would never stick in my head. and then in 7th grade, my friends mom taught me to crochet and although i have not been consistent in doing it, i can still go back to it. of course, the only thing i do make are afghans and scarves...i must increase my repetoire.
