I am going to try and give up smoking *yet again* I got the Smoke Away program, but will not officially start until Friday night, as I dont want to start it on a night before work. Apparently its like herbal detox getting all the tobacco out of your system.
I am also going to try and go to church every week during Lent. I like the idea of adding something to my life during Lent instead of taking something away.

I tried to give up alcohol last year, and I made it about halfway through. I think I may try it again.
My Uncle every year gives up alcohol and Cigars. My aunt goes Crazy with him LOL. And on Easter he goes straight for the Whiskey.
I've thought of doing that a few times. But St. Patricks Day is during Lent!! So it can NEVER happen!!!

Woah, I have to think of something quick. It always has to be something I like but not like enough to have a problem giving up until Easter. I am a bad Catholic.
Instead of giving something up, do something extra. Volunteer, give money to the poor (instead of saving it to buy something else for yourself that you want but really don't need)...it's not so much about giving up things it's about giving a bit of yourself to something or someone else too.
: -)
I'll remind you about no meat! LOL
You are so right. It is so easy to forget about doing something extra for others during this time (or anytime for that matter)!!
