giving up for Lent?

Re: What's everyone

Food! hehe! Last April I started a medically supervised full fast (liquids only) that involved these doctor formulated shakes. I lost 60 pounds in 3 months before I started cheating. I was down another 10 before I quit, but I have since gained about 25 of it back. I now have all these left-over shake mixes. So I figured, since I 'can't' have meat tomorrow and on Fridays, might as well get back on the wagon and try losing the rest of the weight! Wish me luck!

I'm going to try to stop cursing too. I wanna try to be a better person. More patient especially. I think I'm already pretty good but I could always do better.

Lent is a great opportunity to start and I want to truly do the best I can. If I fail, I fail. But no matter what, it'll have a good effect on me and those who I know.

I tried to give up alcohol last year, and I made it about halfway through. I think I may try it again.

My Uncle every year gives up alcohol and Cigars. My aunt goes Crazy with him LOL. And on Easter he goes straight for the Whiskey.

Woah, I have to think of something quick. It always has to be something I like but not like enough to have a problem giving up until Easter. I am a bad Catholic.

I can't go to St. Pat's at lunch today because I have a meeting at 12:30.
I think I'm going to go tonight after work @ SH

This is how bad I am. I saw a line of people on my way to work going in to St. Pat's and I had to think for a second why they would be doing that. Knowing me, I will forget by lunchtime that I can't eat meat.

Im giving up being rich

I gave that up last year. The problem was that it was way too easy!!

Pepperidge Farm cookies, crackers, Diet Pepsi, any soda really.

Plus I will make more of an effort to go to Mass on Sundays, and maybe go during lunch on weekdays. St. Patrick's is down the block.

Instead of giving something up, do something extra. Volunteer, give money to the poor (instead of saving it to buy something else for yourself that you want but really don't need)...it's not so much about giving up things it's about giving a bit of yourself to something or someone else too.

: -)

I'll remind you about no meat! LOL
