I feel the same way - we've done the knick knack thing a lot - maybe tickets to a concert, sports game, or a gift certificate to his favorite restaurant?

I got him one of those 'fire pit' things. I was gonna get him a replacement hammock cause ours has a hole, but the 'fire pit' was SO cool!
FH might be getting his father the same thing!

I tried to get him one from Fortunoff's Backyard store - but they were sold out! So I ended up getting him one at Target. They are on sale at Target and at Kohls

My brother and I chipped in and got my dad a $150 gift certificate to Lowe's. They just moved into their house in Florida and want to go buy things for the house, they need plants and palm trees for their lanai, so we thought he would get good use out of that!!

My dad travels a lot, so I got him a leather toiletries case. He has one already, but it is sooooooo old, I figured he could use an updated one. I got it at a leather store in the mall (in MD)

prepaid cell phone he is always out working and we can never get in touch with him, he usually has a lot of problems with his truck to, so it's good to have. although i'm sure he won't have a clue how to use it.
