What's for dinner HELP!!!

Original post by jsta76

I just started thinking about dinner. I only have an hour and a half left and i'll probably need to go food shopping. I think the only thing I have is chicken in the freezer.

FH just came back from his trip with plus tonight is 7 months. I want to make something special for dinner but I have no clue. It needs to be on the healthy side since i'm on WW. Any ideas???

I know there's what seems like a million posts out there.

Help

I used the WW recipes, and made chicken parm since its one of his faves. I didn't think it turned out very good because I burnt the chicken a little bit FH loved it because he will eat just about everything. But I am dissapointed.

I haven't tried the key lime tart yet but that should be really good. I know I liked the batter.

I don't get it, I'm a wiz at baking but I don't know why I CANNOT cook when I try on the stove. I was telling FMIL on Monday, I always end up doing that

Also, i mentioned to FH that it was 7 months to our wedding and he said 'SO WHAT!!' He can be so unromantic

Fh is easy.. pasta pasta pasta... I toss it with marinara sauce, shrimp and garlic ( i love garlic) and make a salad on the side and he's set!

because he is smart and knows theres nothing better lol...Oooo i love pasta with shrimp YUMMY!!!!!!!

seriously if i wasn't on a diet then it would definitely be pasta no question about it lol...when in doubt eat pasta lol

Pasta is one of my faves too but i'll pass on the shrimp. I don't eat seafood.

There's always whole wheat pasta...it's healthier and some people think it tastes exactly the same

yeah i do eat whole wheat pasta...I also LOVE the organic vodka sauce, its surprisingly very good. So ill sometimes buy whole wheat penne and make it with the organic vodka sauce

I'm guessing that's not too fattening?? Is it expensive?

Last time we went to the supermarket we were looking for vodka sauce that wasn't a million calories. We found one. I think it was Barilla but it didn't taste that great.

We both LOVE vodka sauce. I should look for a recipe and make it myself.

yeah the organic vodka sauce isn't that bad when it comes to calories. Well Organic food in general is a little bit more regardless. My mom goes to a specialty supermarket in the city by her job and buys organic stuff. I would check for organic type supermarkets by you.

its not the one i go to but i would say try wholefoods market in your area. Also organic eggs are SO good, you dont need to put salt on it or anything to give it flavor. It has a little bit more of a sweet taste. Cold cuts are good too

here is the site

Re: What's for dinner HELP!!!

I am no help - my FH is working late at his second job, and I ate two hot dogs with melted cheese on it.

Good, but very fattening and bad for the wedding diet.

There is a recipe on WW but I didn't use it. I'm pretty sure you have to be a member though to access their recipes. WW also has a key lime pie with their desserts in the freezer at the supermarket. Its 4 points and pretty good.

Key Lime Pie is one of my specialties. Its sooooo easy to make and everyone thinks I worked harder than I actually did. It only has 3 ingredients.

1/2 cup key lime juice
1 can fat free sweetened condensed milk
3 egg yolks

You can use any type of pie crust .

Just mix it all together.

I think the only difference is that the WW version Instead of using yolks you use egg substitute. I'm not sure how it ends up since i've never done that.

For the tarts I just used mini graham cracker tins that I bought in the supermarket

The recipe I used is 7 points

If you make with a 6 oz pie crust there are 10 services each is 5 points.
