whats the biggest.....

thing you've learned since being married? as far as housekeeping, etc...
i was thinking about this tonight- and for me, i've definitely learned the most about cooking. i never really cooked at all before we got married, and was stressin big time before the wedding about how i was gonna manage plannning and cooking meals every night.... but, i've really learned that its not as hard to throw together a meal as i thought it would be! like tonight, i browned some ground beef, dumped in some beef gravy, poured it over egg noodles- and there, ya go- beef stroganoff add a veggie and you've got a meal
does anybody else have something like this that you've learned about since getting married??

even though we lived together before hand, I learned that I need to ASK for help from DH....he just wont realize that the laundry/ dishes/ cleaning needs to be done

now , i simply just ask him to do something and like magic....he does it!!! Wish someone told me this 3 years ago

DH and I lived together for almost 2 yrs before we got married.

I would have to say that if I have learned 1 thing since we said 'I do', it is to compromise. my DH is extermely laid back and is always up for just about anything, but we almost always end up doing what I want to do. So lately I have been saying 'I what do what YOU want to do'

Even though we lived together for 2 years before, I literally cooked maybe once a month before we got married. Now I am cooking usually at least once a week and I have realized that I dont always need to use a recipe, can just throw stuff together. (it helps that he is helping with a team at school, so I am getting home first. )

I learned that I let him think he's in charge.

Definately a learning process. DH and I did not live together before and I think the fact that we are both 'older' we are definately set in our ways and have definate ideas as to how things should be done. We are both learning from eachother. I think I'm definately learning to not be quite a n a l about things. I have that attitude that when something has to get done it needs to be done that second. And it would drive me up the wall when I would ask DH to do something and it would sit for the next 6 hours. I've learned that yes, he will do it, but in his own time.

yup! i learned this, too!! DHs mom has never worked, and hes an only child- so she had plenty of time to do everythign for him- clean his room, wash and put away his laundry, cook- so i really had ot 'teach' him what needed to be done- he had NO CLUE of all the little stuff that needs to get one! i found that asking him to help me with things helped ( guys like to feel like they're 'recusing' you- LOL ) so i did that, and now he does a lot of it on his own- he'll clean things if they're dirty, does his own laundry, starts dinner a lot.... hes great he just need a little 'training' LOL
