I'm pretty sure that it's 'okay' to run the envelopes through the printer for the addresses.
So, is it also okay to print out address sticker labels? If not, why?

Re: what's the etiquette rule for sticker labels?
not my invites...having a debate with one of my friends.
We just started talking about addressing envelopes. I thought that the printed sticker labels are a 'no go'.
So, she brought up the point, 'Well, what's the difference between printing directly on the envelope versus printing on a sticker label and then putting the sticker on the envelope? It's still being done by the computer'
So, I figured this would be a good question for the LIW girls

for my engagement invites i printed them directly onto the envelope. But for something informal, like my save the dates, i made cute sticker ones. It depends how formal your looking to get!

You know- I really have no idea.. But your friend has a point.. however, if given the choice- I would rather print directly on an envelope, than on a sticker which goes on the envelope.
I printed a sheet out with my familiy's addreses last year, & it was really easy to just peel then off as birthdays came around.

My personal opinion, labels for wedding invite are not appropriate but I believe there are ladies here who disagree and have done it ... JMO.

Re: what's the etiquette rule for sticker labels?
I think printing on th envelope just LOOKS so much better and classier and looks like and is more effort. I think labels look chintzy and are more lilely to smudge if delivered on a rainy day. It's SO easy to run them through the computer and it looks SO much better, so why not?

i think it looks better by doing it directly on the envelope. i do think it depends on the formality of the occasion.
