What's the most unique thing you ever saw/heard at a Wedding?
Original post by OctGroom
I'll start..... (and I hope you can post stuff happier than what I am going to start off with)
My FW told me that she went to a Wedding where the bride absolutely flipped out.. cursed out his parents.. and slapped the FH. No lie.
As you can imagine.. they did not consumate the marraige that evening.

They had SAMBA dancers at their wedding. It is a Brazilian tradition and the bride was brazilian. They basically had on thongs and bikin tops. But let me tell you they got everyone on the dancefloor.

My friend went to a wedding and they had a belly dancer come out. She was like but it is tradition for them apparently. He was Egyptian.

Most Medettrian (sp) people have belly dancers for everything. My cousins had them for their christenings, I have seen them at 70th bday parties, anniversarys, my Fh 1/2 greek, 1/2 jewish had one at his Bar mitzvah. Any excuse for a party is an excuse for a belly dancer

Believe me you don't. Most of them arn't the most attractive women they wear a veil for a reason. I don't know why but most of them are older too and have no right wearing a bikini like anything...JMO

Another poor excuse for a best mans speech..
'Rock and roll all night and party everyday'...
THAT'S IT!!!! Nothing ELSE!
Otherwise, it was a beautiful wedding :)

Me and FH were at a wedding this summer where the FOB surprised everyone and took out an audiotape that he had saved from 1974 when the Bride was like 7 years old. It is the two of them singing a song about love and there was not a dry eye in the house!! After they played the tape, she and her dad got up and sang the song!!

two things from the same wedding. First off, the best man forgot the rings and they stopped the wedding midway through so he could go get them...in brooklyn. The wedding was in brooklyn, but still, it wasn't like he just had to run across the street. Then the bride and groom had an elvis impersonator sing their first dance song, which i thought was very sweet and unique.

Hey
I'm 1/2 arabic/mediterranean/whatever and i'd like to think i have a nice belly. and the veil isn't to hide unattractive faces. But I do admit we like any excuse to party.
Either way, I was at a wedding where the BM made everyone sit down for the toast because it was going to be long. It was 1 short sentence. Afterwards, one of the bridesmaids gave an awesome speech. It was a planned one but it seemed as if she was covering the best man's behind.

.....they went on their honeymoon the next day and came home a week later, she went to her place, he went to his place and never moved into together!
PS.....they're now divorced!
OMG!
I have two - same wedding:
The bad: A fight broke out on the street just outside the reception hall and half the reception had to pull the GROOM back to keep him from jumping in.
The Good: The groom designed all the gowns, including the bride's gown and each BM gown (each was different) and they displayed the original sketches at a table next to the guestbook table. I thought that was very cool and unique.

I am sorry to say that I attended this one wedding where the groom was apparently a gambling kind of guy (I did not know the couple very well at all). Some of the grooms buddies made a bet a while back...the loser had to get breast implants. Well at the wedding the loser showed up and just before the best man's speech ran up to the diaz and bared all infront of the whole room. P.S. Loser was a man in his late 30's.
The couple tried to make the best of it, but it did end up ruining the whole event.

Then the mariachi band went around the cocktail hour of the reception to each table and took requests! That was really cool!
This is very traditional. They first play for the bride and groom and ask premission to play for the crowd and then walk around play and taking requests. Usually while the guests are eating.
This im used to, I guess I can see it as different.
Same for the dollar dance. Especially the one bride who really let them pin the bills on her.. TALK ABOUT TRUST!
It was cute to see the old men go up there to try to pin the bills on the brides boobs.
I'm still fiddling with the idea of bowing as my father and I stand at the back to show respect to the holy event, my family and his family. Some older traditions are hard to forget. Problem is, I can't recall if that was spanish, indian, mexican, or just my family.

Here's a few bad ones for ya:
GOD BLESS TEXAS (I say this cuz none of these put a good light on the state, but not all weddings are this bad, i SWEAR!)
1. My own father putting on a hankie tied at both ends to look like rabbit ears and having him hopping through the tables onto the dance floor past the bride & groom and back to his seat…(why? Cause one old geezer was about to end it all and shoot himself with a shotgun, my dad saw it and was gathering the troops)
2. The time my aunt’s husband (notice I don’t call him uncle) slapped my aunt for talking back to him and disobeying by dancing even though he told her no. He said later to his defense (outside where my aunt’s three brothers – included Dad – dragged him) “It’s the way Mexican Families are”. Its ok to hit disobient women.
3. The Bridesmaid who had a uhmm itch to scratch and picked one of the band members for a quickie during a break, only to find out that it was the cousin of one of the guests. The guest freaked out and attached the BM in the bathroom while I was tinkling. I just left them to it. Actually there of us in there just left the bathroom and closed the door. Ain’t our problem.
4. The really hip cool wedding. Seems the bride and groom wanted it there way period. They booked a club for the ‘reception’. Imagine if you will. Old Aunt Ann sitting in the corner trying to talk to Aunt Jane while “Word up” was blaring. Light show, shots and butt grinding galore. I had a blast!!!! (I was underage and getting my brother to hit on girls for free drinks, heh)
