What's the most unique thing you ever saw/heard at a Wedding?
I'll start..... (and I hope you can post stuff happier than what I am going to start off with)
My FW told me that she went to a Wedding where the bride absolutely flipped out.. cursed out his parents.. and slapped the FH. No lie.
As you can imagine.. they did not consumate the marraige that evening.

Mine is happier, I have two actually. At my friend's wedding, her two older brothers wrote a song and sang it to her. There wasn't a dry eye in the place. And at my FSIL's wedding she surprised her DH with the Nassau County Police Pipe and Drum band during the reception. He looked like a child on Christmas morning.

That's much better.. BTW.. mine is the famous Bridezilla that was on the news last year.. unfortunately this is a totally different thing.
After the slap, she had calmed down enough for them to exchange vows.. maybe one caould chalk it up to jitters.... but at the reception, she freaked out again.

Well at my fh best friends wedding the BM gave a speech. The groom was about to go into basic training or something like that. 'I am glad you married my sister, try not to get killed'. Precious really, the look on people's face was PRICELESS.
ps- that was the speech

I knwo what you mean.. I laughed first time I heard it but after more serious thought I couldn't help but think how awful this had to be. I know what you mean.
Basically.. everybody was pretty numb and didn't know what quite to say.. they got to a point where a lot of people just strat making excuese to leave.. it was that uncomfortable.

One of my favorite things was at the ceremony, not the reception.
My friend was studying abroad in France when she met her DH. She kept a journal of all her experiences, mostly about dealing with French culture or about the classes she was taking, but also about her social life and dating this guy.
In the church program, she photocopied several of her journal entries, from the very first night she met him (she described him as 'goofy-looking' and spelled his name wrong!), to later in the relationship. I thought this was such a unique, personal touch. I loved it!

We went to a wedding about 2 years ago where the bride and groom did their first dance and then about an hour into the reception the dj announce the bride and groom in again 'to show us how they really dance' or it was somehting to the point where they met in famous dance club in the city but that isnt the point.
The bride danced out with a white busiter (sp?) and black pants and black flat shoes and started dancing. Everyone freaked as to where her dress went. After they danced for about 15min she left the room put the gown back on and came back in.
Very odd.

Re: What's the most unique thing you ever saw/heard at a Wedding?
my most unique moment was a wedding for a Mexican co-worker, in a church in Brooklyn a few years ago. They had a small mariachi (sp?) band in the church up by the altar, which pretty much drowned out the priest during the service. Not the vows portion, just the regular mass portion (priest blessing communion, offering communion, saying some prayers, etc.) I hope I don't come off as too naive, i only had been to the organ-playing church wedding variety. It was definitely different, and probably irreverent to the priest (who seemed cool with it), but it was certainly lively!!
I thought it was a really interesting touch, although personally not for me... Then the mariachi band went around the cocktail hour of the reception to each table and took requests! That was really cool!
If anyone has a spanish-themed wedding, I think it would be a really fun idea..

Our friend gave a poor excuse for a best man speech at his cousin's wedding. He didn't really like the girl (the couple is actually getting divorced) and said he refused to prepare for the speech. He was totally unprepared and didn't manage to say a single nice word about the couple, he pretty much only shared memories of him and his cousin. For all of the friends it was pretty funny, I'm sure her family didn't find it as humorous as the rest of us. lol!

Ohhhh, I have another that I blocked out. This has to be the strangest wedding I had ever been to. It was my ex's friend....well we all know that bride is supposed to make an entrance and be 'fashionably' late but this chick was almost 40 minutes late! The church was packed and the noise level grew as people conversed then finally a family friend got up to the podium and you could here a pin drop.....we all thought she was going to send us home but instead she informed everyone where the restrooms were...the whole church broke into nervous laughter
She finally showed up, they got hitched and onto the reception we went where she had an Elvis impersonator(sp) perform.....they went on their honeymoon the next day and came home a week later, she went to her place, he went to his place and never moved into together!
