I dont like trendy, made up names but I hate the name Bruce. No offense to anyone who likes it or has a DH or FH with the name but yuck. Bruce!

Girls -- Aida, Desiree, Debbie, Francis, Lola, Clarissa, Grace.

Boy: Joshua, Frank, Ted, Ken, Tim, Carl, William, Martin, Roland

There are a bunch of names I wouldn't use, mostly after past students I've had. The names conjure up memories.... I think most teachers feel this way!

None of our children will bear any of my ex's names .. and any of FH's ex's names .. which given our respective histories, might mean our children will go nameless for awhile.. J/K

I do not like Brittany, Ashley, Tiffany for girls .. mostly because there are just too many of them out there. Or the aforementioned Bertha, Bessie, Ester, or otherwise old lady-ish names.

I'm more open to boys names, actually. Though for some reason I dislike the name Ralph. A lot. This stems from the Judy Blume book 'Forever' which I read when I was a pre-teen .. if anyone's read that book, I think you'll know what I mean re: Ralph

HEY!!! My husbands' name is Richard but we call him Rich (his father goes by the OTHER nickname!!!) And DH is a JR.!!!

Actually I would never name my child Gertrude either, it was hell growing up!!
