that sealed the deal with picking your reception site?
Was it an extra they threw in? An extra entree choice? Viennese hour? chair covers? flowers? how did you know you were getting THE best deal?
spinoff to the negotiating thread :) ~jennifer

Re: what's the one thing...
I don't think it was just one thing for us, it was a combination. Being on the water, the wonderful staff, the attention at a private tasting, the food, the extras, the flexibiltiy, everything. It gave us that warm fuzzy feeling that makes you just know it is the right place. (We looked at about 20!)

For me it was how clean it was, they did not have any violations when I checked them out, and the food is excellent ( we get the chance to sample more than 5 dishes), and they worked with us alot.

I'm a Fox Hollow bride...the price was wonderful 70/pp..they threw in a free night at their inn..a mini-v, ice sculpture, and there's no cake cutting fee, which is great! they even lowered my minimum and said that even though they don't do tastings and don't normally allow this, they're giving us dinner at the resturaunt (i definitely know i spelled that wrong)! Plus I love the place, its so pretty!

I asked the question, but didn't answer hehe oops!
For me it was a combination of things, but really the attention to detail that my BM has and my confidence in letting her handle our day... the food was delicious, being on the water is wonderful, and the idea ofusing a rooftop deck for cocktail hour really won us over... not to mention the chocolate fountain and ice cream sundae bar :)

Pretty much the same reasons. I love the wood on the walls. I like how they keep the weddings separate. You don't ever see the other wedding going on.

Is the chocolate fountain and the ice cream sundae bar included or you have to pay extra for this?

I can't really pin it down to one thing. Just a feeling. An overwhelming feeling of perfection.

They threw in the chocolate fountain for us but it is usually extra. They were going to give us the dessert bar too but I felt that was more for a bar mitzvah or sweet sixteen.

When we walked in, it was the only place where we could actually envision our wedding taking place.

Re: what's the one thing...
we just walked into the place and KNEW. (Watermill) it was like we just looked at each other while sitting and waiting for the banquet manager to come, and FH and I just smiled at each other and we loved it.
Our BM was great in giving us details on the place and negotiating price. (They threw in a special dish for the CH and I liked that.) When we toured the place it just seemed perfect to us and we really enjoyed the way it just sparkled and was so clean and professional.
All in all, it was just something we felt from the moment we entered. The fact that they were able to give us one of the best prices definetely locked the deal.

There isn't one thing, but many. We loved how dark and classy it felt. We loved that our cocktail hour would be so bright and open (WGP) and that our dinner would be so dark and closed in (BF) We loved the menu (mmm....) and the extras - a full Viennese, intermezzo, wine on the tables, vodka and caviar bar, a room at the Inn... They also lowered our minimum to 80, which really sealed the deal.

we loved the ambiance, the caterers just renovated and the deal couldn't be beat. The place was clean and elegant. I had a huge bridal suite and a bridal attendant. Some othe places didn't have that.

Re: what's the one thing...
I have always wanted to get married there - ever since I was little!!
it was the only place we looked at (FH was so wonderful about letting me get married where I want) but what REALLY sealed the deal... was the price we got for doing it on a Friday night!!!
I LOVE THE WATERMILL

Re: what's the one thing...
I booked our temple on blind faith. They were just set to start construction so I had no idea what to expect in terms of what it would look like. to tell you the truth, I much prefer a generic room that I can decorate in MY STYLE than a room with stuff all over it that isnt my taste. This way, I can add stuff I want no matter how big or small or what color and it will look fine. so bascially, I booked on reputation and food and service. Having just been to a function there this weekend, I know I made a good choice!

Re: what's the one thing...
Well, not only did we love the place when we walked in, found out it was incredibly affordable, and the food was amazing but---- they had initially told us that they would have an outside area for the ceremony and CH, but when we talked to the owner, he said he was waiting on permits. We were ready to walk out when he said that if we found a place to hold the ceremony, he would set up chairs and an alter for us, at no extra charge, anywhere we wanted! SO AWSOME!!!

I felt comfortable instantly with them, they didn't pressure us at all and let us roam around. We are very happy with our decision, our wedding was perfect.

Re: what's the one thing...
one more thing, we went when there was a party going on and the owner of went into the cocktail hour and brought us plates of food and wine to taste. We didn't even talk about anything yet!
