Though I am still in the process of looking I will probably say that I will probably splurge on photography. It is one of my top three.

I think the most important things at a wedding are:
(not in any order)
1. Good Food
2. Photography
3. Good Music

tell me about it Wacky.. luckily it's the FH who told me I should get a band to match the e-ring... hehe.. like the toyota commercial says 'You asked for it! You got it!' lol

oh and I should also say that if I hadn't gotten a break with the band that would have been another big a$$ expense! lol

We kep to our budget, so that I could add all the little things and we could go on our Hm and enjoy ourselves.

You can find reasons to go crazy on just about everything. Photography was the most important thing to us, so we expected to go crazy on that. But the one unexpected thing we wound up going crazy on was our invites. I decided to make my own and it was an absolute nightmare. Soooo much work, and I never even bothered to total up the final price tag. But they turned out great and our guests loved them. We also sent out messages in a bottle for our save the dates. Between those and our invites, our guests couldn't wait for our wedding. So I guess it was all worth it in the end.

We splurged by getting married on a Saturday night. I knew we could have saved a ton by having a Sunday afternoon wedding, but I really wanted a Sat night, and FH indulged me Also by adding on an additional photographer who will do candids in black & white.

I haven't really gone crazy in anything that I had looked into. I would say for obvious reasons the reception hall is the biggest expense. But I haven't really touched my honeymoon yet.

All I know is we are 98% sure we are going to Aruba.

photography
spent a lot and then went for an additonal almost 400.00 adding pages, etc..... when I did my album planning

the dj - we went with a dj/band combo
transportation - we got buses for our guests and I
got my horse and carriage in addition to the limos
I guess the wedding itself...since I chose to have my dream NY wedding instead of getting married here in Dallas.

Our splurges were-

Our Honeymoon-worth every penny
Our Favors-again worth it
My Dress-I loved it, but wish I bought it somewhere else.
All of my 'unnecessary' detail stuff -cigar bar, place card holders, table names, candy, other small assorted items that added up to a lot-but again totally worth it! I would not have done it any other way.Photos-We thought we spent a lot, but now that we've got our pictures & we are so thrilled with them, I'm glad we spent a little more.

I could have gone nuts on everything, but our splurges were:

photographer - our pics are priceless to us

honeymoon in Hawaii - what a wonderful way to start off your marriage in paradise!

favors - we really wanted to give some a little different and useful

I really, really wanted a Saturday night reception, which of course drove the price up. We haven't finalized which photo package we're going with, but I know that's where I don't want to scrimp.

We did spurlge a little on the HM planning - 11 night cruise, stateroom with balcony, then 2 nights in Vegas. I'm trying to get us a room at the Bellagio for that
