what's the worst thing you've ever seen happen at a wedding?

Wow you can only be in awe of this thread.

Well I haven't witnessed anything personally, but my saleperson at my hall was telling me how at a wedding he went to the bride wanted to do a dove release, what she didn't realize is that the place was next to a bird sanctuary that had a very hungry and alert Hawk (or eagle I forget what he said).
So the release happens & SWOOP comes in the hawk & has a lil meal of the lil bird. The bride was appalled, everyone was. I mean what do you say when a symbol of your love for each other is partly killed before your eyes.

SO needless to say no live thing release for me!!

I have another story about a co-workers wedding:

When the ceremony started, one of the 'groomsmen' ran in late but made it in time to walk down the aisle. When he got down to join the rest of the bridal party, everyone realized that this guy didn't belong at the wedding! This guy accidentally went to the wrong church and since he was from out of town he had never met anyone in the actual bridal party of the wedding he was supposed to be in, so he didn't know he was walking in the wrong wedding until he saw the groom. He stood up for the entire ceremony with the BP!

I went to a wedding where the bride ended up puking at the alter. Thankfully it was outside!

Same wedding, the groom's mother decided she was going to do her famous crab move on the dance floor at the end of the night. Well she did and her dress got hiked up and her undies were showing. Real classy

This happened to FH when he worked at a catering hall years ago.

some of these stories are awful...

the worst i've seen doesn't even compare. I went to a sorority' sister's wedding and she walked in on her little bro getting BJ from his girlfriend n the bridal suite.

this is mild...but I was at a wedding, during the best man's toast he said that he wished the couple ' a lot of great f*cking'....

the bride was mortified, she took off crying

At my brothers wedding his new wifes 80+ aunt fell on the floor and the bride looked over at her and then continued (without going to help )to collect cards from guests. Never once going to see if she was okay and then instead of saying goodnight to anyone she went down to the bridal suite and counted her new found wealth

Nothing as serious as what I have already read...

But at an outdoor ceremony in August at a botanical garden, we had to sit out in the sun, unprotected, for 45 minutes while the long ceremony went on... and on... and of course, it being a garden and being surrounded by bushes and flowers, there were bees all over the place! It was so hot and sunny, and we were all sitting out there dressed up and sweating non-stop, and then freaking out because of the bees. When the ceremony was over, everyone ran to the bathrooms... women were in there dunking their faces in the water to try to cool off. My FH had just sweat though his nice shirt entirely. Luckily I was wearing a spaghetti strap dress, but I did start to burn a bit.

def for me it was a destination wedding!
My DH and I were asked to attend this wedding in the Caribbean. I didn't want to go for several reasons ...1. we were getting married the same year so the cash flow was a problem.
2.The distance 2 planes to get there and 2 hr layovers.
3. This was his 2nd marriage and he barley was divorced yet!

We finally arrived & the rehursal dinner was in a couple of hrs. We had no time to shower just enough time to freashen up. We arrived at the resteraunt on time and the Bride and Groom did not even show until 2 1/2 hours later! We were all starving and now drunk on cheap liquor that every guest had to account for on their own tab!

Come time for the wedding Reception the nxt day the Bride and Groom did the same thing to all the guests by making us wait for their arrival due to photos, only this time it was 3hrs later. Still no food was being served.
By time the food did get served it was a buffet cook in front of you with 1 chef for 250 people!!! The line was 3 hrs long for dinner and the entire wedding grounds were on white sharp rocks with fire ants crawling up your legs and biting you!
By end of the night there was No transportation to get back to the hotel somehow they forgot that part!!! We ended up hitching a ride w/the random locals. NUTS. and stupid. Most of the guests were discusted.

I went to a wedding a few years ago where the bride (and almost all the guests) were an hour and 45 minutes late. Turns out the bride started calling people when the hair salon she went to that morning wouldn't do her hair until all their appointments were done -- because she was a walk-in and walk-in's have to wait (who does that
? make a freakin appt!) She finally arrived at the church and the minister, who she met all of one time, had such a thick accent that almost no one could understand him. But the bride could and she repeated his very poor English WORD FOR WORD during the vows. 'Ehh you a take 'groom's name' to ehh have ehh hold ehh leave (live)...' I am not kidding. The bride had no make-up on (said she didn't have time). She didn't know that the reception hall (local, budget place) had to be decorated by HER the day before so we walked in there and there were 15 bare, ugly tables. No table covers, no cp's.The tables looked like they had been thrown together with spare plywood. So someone runs to the store and buys plastic tablecloths which is better than nothing, The cocktail hour consisted of a box of ritz crackers and some cheese -- for 100 people. But the drinks were plentiful -- the groom made sure of that. The groomsmen all had on tuxes that were at least 4 sizes too big because and I qoute, 'They wanted to look gangsta' ' The dancefloor was the size of a postage stamp and people tried to 'freak it' right in front of the children -- including the bride's. To top it off, one of the BM's loudly exclaimed that her wedding would be nothing like this one. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.
