I recently got engaged last week (woo hoo!!) but have been secretly planning our wedding for months. The thing is, I cannot find a venue that I *love*!!
We are having a small-ish wedding, around110-120 people. I would take either the Island or NYC. I dont want a ballroom venue, or something that evokes the feeling of a country club. Those events are lovely, just not our style. Rather, I would like something loungy, intimate, and sexy. I feel like I have exhausted all of my options and I am being too picky.
Oh, and did I mention budget? Ideally I would like to keep it @ 140pp (w/tax and tip) but could go up to 160pp. Saturday night a must (parents insist).
Ladies, please help. I am about 12 hours away from just throwing in the towel and booking two tickets to Vegas!

You have time to find someplace that you love! Don't sell yourself short, we looked at probably 20-30 places but 2 stuck out and that's how we knew!

there's a place called Espace in the city way west on 42nd street. It's a gorgeous space.

I just checked out that website and I must say that place looks awesome and exactly like what the OP described as what she wants.

Check out Fox Hollow, they have a really pretty room there called the Winter Garden Pavillion that accommodates the amount of guests you are planning to have

I second Tribecca Rooftop.
Someone suggested The Garden City Hotel but that is very ballroomesque. They have two ballrooms. However, idk if maybe weddings can be held in the Ultra Lounge there at The GCH which would be more of what you are looking for. Keep in mind it is pretty $$$$ there.

i think some of the more popular catering halls listed above will still just give you the feel of a rh..i forgot how many ppl your looking for..have you thought about trying any restaurants? i saw pics from a sweet sixteen at the restaurant four (dont laugh) and its very sexy modern lounge feel..could be very nice..

You must check out the Sans Souci of Sea Cliff. Perfect for your size wedding and within your budget or even less. They only host one affair at a time, its very beautiful with waterviews and of all the places listed here the food is far more superior, trust me I did tastings galore!! here is the website www.sanssouci.us
