What's your father/daughter song? (non-sappy preferred!)

I need help picking a father/daughter song. I LOVE the song 'I Loved Her First,' but I get sooo emotional that I don't I'll make it though the song w/o ruining all my makeup! Any suggestions on songs that aren't too sappy??? Thanks!

I didnt want sappy either bc i didnt want to cry... so me and my father danced to sinatra... the way you look tonight .... it was perfect for the non-cry moment and dad even got to twirl me around being that it was a little bit of a faster pace ... it worked out really well for us!

My Dad picked mine... and it was so cute when he told me that he already had a song in mind, I wasn't even thinking about it yet... so it didn't realy matter to me what it was cause he picked it.. but he's so cute, he picked Daddy's Little Girl which isn't waht I would have chosen but how could I tell him no? ha.

Maybe you could ask your dad to choose?

unfortunately mine is sappy lol my dad won't let me pick anything other than butterfly kisses because he requested it to me on the radio on my 16th birthday and said that was the song for the wedding from way beck then lol..'m going to be hysterical ugggggh

My dad LOVES Beyonce's 'Single Ladys' and wants to dance to it. Do not know if or how we can do it.
I do not want a mushy song to dance to, we will both cry, so doing something fun like 'Single Lady' would be awesome. Not 100% sold on it tho, I do not dance.

I think if your dad is willing to dance to Beyonce then it won't matter how well you dance! If you're not into the traditional father/daughter dancing then I say go for it!!

we didn't want anything sappy either so we're dancing to sweet child o' mine- guns and roses... we're big rock people and i grew up listening to bands like black sabbath, etc so we picked a rock song that was not too crazy lol... i also like the idea of doing something sinatra like someone previously said

My sond with my dad was My Wish by Rascal Flatts. It was perfect. Not too sappy and I didn't cry!

My dad's no longer around so I asked FI's father to do the father/daughter dance with. We're super close

His favorite song of all time is Israel Kamakawiwo?ole's Somewhere Over The Rainbow.
So that is what we will be dancing to; midway through FI & his mom will be joining us.

'Just the Way You are' Billy Joel

I knew I had to pick a Billy Joel song. My dad had gone to High School with him and has always been a huge Billy Joel fan. My first concert was Billy Joel on New Years Eve at The Coliseum! I've also developed a huge appreciation for him from a young age... so it's something we've always shared. Great lyrics too but not the reason I picked the song.
