What's your favorite thing about owning your home

What's your favorite thing about owning your home

I like:

1) knowing I will never have to look for a parking spot again

2) that it's ours

3) that we did it COMPLETELY on our own, we didn't need our parents money

4) anything I do to the house, no one can tell me not to. If we want to paint- fine, tear down a wall- fine, hang a picture- no problem

My two favorite things are decorating it however we want and being able to have a dog.

I don't own yet (approx. 1 month away!) but one of the things I am looking most forward to is having parties where I have enough room to invite more than 4 people!

1. It is ours and we did it on our own
2. Doing all the work on it ourselves and seeing results!
3. Nice backyard that is going to be great for parties! And we can have them whenever we want!
4. Less than a 10 minute drive to work means sleeping later
5. Someday gettting to decorate it the way we want!!!

Decorating!!! I used to live in a shoebox sixed bedroom at my parents' house and now I can decorate a whole townhouse!

These plus...

That when I go to make something in the kitchen at 1:00 in the morning, I don't hear my Mom yelling 'What are you doing?!?'

That EVERY morning when I have to shower, my Dad doesn't get his sudden urge to do his duty (mind you there was two bathrooms but he just HAD to use the one and only w/a shower!).

That I don't hear my Mother asking where this and that is when I never saw this or that to begin with.

That if I put a drink down, the beverage fairy doesn't steal it.

That I can decorate my yard any way I see fit and not have to trip over the 1,000+ yard creatures covering the lawn.

It is ALL mine

I can't wait to decorate when the time comes.

We did it by ourselves with no help!

I can pick out my own colors without an, 'Are you SURE you want that color?'

That I finally have something (other than a car) in my name. YAY for colateral!
Even though it's a PITA, I like that DH and I do a lot of the home improvements ourselves. It's very satisfying to look at the end results.

1) Having a permanent parking spot in the driveway (not having to double park anymore or walk 10 blocks to the parking garage)

2) No loud and noisy neighbors and hearing them walking around upstairs...

3) Laundry!!

4) Being able to decorate many rooms!

5) A yard and deck to sun and entertain!
