I tend to be a pretty shy person in nature and hate making phone calls to businesses and people I don't know. I also tend not to speak up for myself much. So, today I went to book tickets that I had on hold through Delta. I was using my SkyMiles. The agent started to explain some fees($10 9/11 fee, $5 processing fee, $50 fee for any changes I make after booking etc), which I was fine with until we got to this $50 rapid redemption fee for not booking the flight at least 14 days prior. The problem was, when I put the flight on hold almost 2 weeks ago, the agent said it would be held for me until midnight on May 12th, but never mentioned this $50 fee even though it was obvious I would fall into that category.
I mentioned this to the agent today, and said I didn't feel I should have to pay it. She said she could not waive the fee, so I told her I would call back. I then had to muster up the courage to call back and ask to speak to a supervisor. I thought to myself, 'I've been calm until now. I think this calls for a bit of bridezilla.' So I called back, only had to give the slightest bit of attitude, and they worked it all out for me! YAY!!! My FI is so proud of me!

I have the opposite problem - I have no problem making a fuss....but lately it doesn't seem to be working. I have made a lot of complaints, and I seem to be getting nowhere. It's like nobody even cares about my special day except for me.
Sorry - I am feeling sorry for myself, because I assumed that people would go out of their way to help me for my wedding, but I am wrong :(

I subscribe to the squeeky wheel theory. Although, I do pick my battles.

I have many times, not taken no for an answer. I always take it as far as it will go. If the person on the phone can't help me, I ask for her name and number (in case they hang up on me), then I ask for the supervisor. Again asking for her name and number ('just in case we get disconnect'). If the supervisor can't help me, I ask for their supervisor or someone that can help me. I must say persistence DOES work. If you take no for an answer, then it's no.
