1. Do you put UNCLE Bob or just BOB on the inner envelope? 2. Do you put Kenneth or Ken - if you call then Ken and his real full name is Kenneth on either envelope? 3. Also when addressing the outer envelope do you put Mr. & Mrs. Chrstopher G and Carla or do you leave off the Carla (daughter) and just put her name on the inner envelope?

Re: When addressing the inner envelope...
I went informal on the inner because that's what I wanted to do but don't think it is 'proper' but I didn't care!!

Re: When addressing the inner envelope...
For inner, it depends on how well you know them.
For family, Uncle Bob.
For friends, Ken is fine.
For parents friends, Mr. Doe is appropriate.

on #3, I think it's Mr & Mrs on the outer, all invitees on inner.

I also went informal. As in, Uncle Bill and Aunt Kristy. Or Jenn instead of Jennifer if that's what we called them. Then we also put Frank and Guest on people who we weren't sure who they were bringing.

Oh, and the inner is when you ADD the kid's names - they don't go on the outer.
So
Uncle Bob and Aunt Shirley Robbie, Mikey and Chris
would work

Re: When addressing the inner & outer envelopes...
Yeah, I would say it is up to you for the inner envelopes. I am basing it on the people. I will use the appropriate familial titles (Aunt, Uncle, Grandma) and first names for friends. Mr & Mrs. for those who I call Mr. and Mrs.

Re: When addressing the inner & outer envelopes...
I addressed the inners for very close family as Mom and Dad, Grandma, etc... For everyone else it was Mr. and Mrs. X. On the outer for a family I did Mr. and Mrs. X and Family and on the inner I wrote the childrens names. But I think it is a matter of preference.

Re: When addressing the inner & outer envelopes...
I found this on a site when I was looking for invitations. These are formal instructions. I think you should do whatever you prefer to do. I hope that helps.

I also used ESCORT instead of guest for Female and .... I just liked the way it sounded better and again, don't really care what's 'proper'. Call Emily Post on me if you must!!!

Re: When addressing the inner & outer envelopes...
We did the outer envelope formal: Mr. and Mrs. Mary Smith and we did the inner informal: Aunt Mary or just their first names (what we call them)

Re: When addressing the inner & outer envelopes...
What we did: The outer envelope was Mr. and Mrs. John Smith and the inner was their first names, John and Mary, UNLESS it was a boss or a friends' parents in which we kept it formal with the Mr and Mrs. We left first names long (Jason was kept Jason even though we call him Jay)
ETA: childrens names (under 18) were put on the inner envelope ONLY, kept the outer as Mr and Mrs.
