we just felt that it was better to put the money towards the wedding..neither of us really wanted the e-party anyway

Yeah, we're not having one either. We don't want people to feel obligated to get us anything since weddings are so expensive. We're just going to have a dinner at a family friends restaurant for both sides of the families (including aunts, uncles and cousins I hope)!
