My daughter was just thinking about when she'll bustle her dress. She's thinking of doing it before she and her husband are introduced at the reception. She feels the train will be in the way while doing their first dance etc. What are you girls doing? Thanks.

We're going to our cocktail hour so I will have it bustled before we go into the cocktail hr. room and leave it bustled the rest of the night.

I did it as soon as we arrived at the RH, and I'm so glad I did. It would have been a giant PITA to hold it for the dance -- and then I'd have to be away from the party as soon as it started. Also, we attended our CH, so I didn't want to walk around holding up my train for that hour.
It was much easier to just do it right after we got to the RH.

Yeah, I think right before intro. I'll probably go to CH in my cathedral gown and train (figuring some people won't go to the church, so I'll give the full effect ) but before CH is over, I'm going back to room to switch my headpiece and bustle dress for reception.

I had my dress bustled when I was in the bridal suite, after pictures were done but before going over to the cocktail hour.

I did it right at the cocktail hour so I wouldnt be dragging it behind and it get ruined. It think that when most brides go for it.

I did mine as soon as I got to the bridal suite and was able to sit down in there and eat.... Before introductions. There was no way I was going to carry it over my arm for the first dance.

Silly question but FH and I plan on attending CH. We are taking pics before the ceremony. Is it okay for me to walk through the crowded CH with my train still attached ? (my train is detachable). I was going to detach it before introductions bc I want to show off my train a little bit Would it be a tripping hazard for everyone if I walk through CH with it?

Do it before the first dance. I didn't have mine bustled until after our first dance & it was a real PITA trying to dance while holding the train.
