I would rather wait until I have somewhere to go. I have some weddings next spring. Is it bad to wait until 2 or 3 months before?
If there is a specific person you want, I would make sure they're available for your day. That's why a lot of people do it early.
the reason why alot of us went so early for trials was simply to book a person we really want...if we waited then they might've not been available...you'll see alot of girls on the boards interested in a specific vendor and then when they contact them they're booked already for that date. I personally did not go a year before my wedding for a trial just to perfect the look i want for my wedding, i went simply to see if i like what they do and if so to book them right away so i can guarantee i get them the day of

i am going to a salon in my neighborhood that i heard does nice work and they have been around forever. they said i can book in may and have my trial in july. i am not super picky, i just want something nice that will stay all night so i think it will be ok. : )
