When Colic Comes in Handy
Yesterday me and Soph had to go to the Social Security Office in good ol' Hackensack NJ!!! I bet you don't need any more description of this situation than that. I am SURE you can imagine...
Sophia was issued a SS # evidently, and it was 'never sent' but they 'dont know why', and they can't just re-send it because of identity theft. So off we went. They had told me to bring the insurance card for the baby and my id.
We get there and the place is filled with like 100 people seated holding numbers, and the line for the cards is like another 25 people. Of course everybody looks at us and is like 'oh cute baby!'. Until Sophia wakes up and realizes there ain't no vacuum cleaner at the Social Security Office!
We got to the window (finally) and the lady says 'you don't have the right identifications. You need her birth certificate' and I calmly explained that we were told..blah blah, and she looks up and goes 'you need a birth certificate to get the number, and without it you have to go over there and fill out a form and get back on line, but I am gonna give it to you cause I can't stand listenin' to that baby scream!'
