im also going to be celebrating our one year anniversary in our new home. we were married in january and purchased our home in september but have been doing extensive work so if all goes well we will be in the house by january

Sure,when I got married several yrs ago we figured we would save by living with my folks. My Dh and FIL fixed up my parents basement 10,000.00 so we could live with them. My father starting asking fo rmoney about 300.00 a week. Yes a week. Which of course pissed us off we didnt look for a place. We started looking for a place about 7 yrs ago and I had lost my job. We were actually at the signing and I told him I lost my job which obviously didnt help. About 4 yrs ago we moved in with his Grandmotehr and we were looking out for her paying a regular rent cause my father kept asking for more money. well she passed away this past year and we are still renting and in a neighborhood I do not want to be in FLushing, But we have no choice. Now our kids are in school and it is now hard to move cause my MIL lives in that area. I HATE FLushing. Grew up there moved away and now moved back. When you are younger you always have dreams and mine are not coming happening. It is very depressing and if I could redo my life I would MY way not listening to my father whcih screwed me up on several occasions. First JOB , Boyfriends, Just everything. Now you got me Going. Are you yet?

t-your post left me shocked, you are a very nice woman, and great mother. You seem very creative, as well as a hard worker. You are witty and wise, I really would love for you to see your life for what it is now. YOu are a young women with plenty of potential, and it will be your time soon enough. I guess I am shocked because of your backround, I did not expect a post like that. This is one phase of your life, and good things are to come. Your kids are beautiful.

I wish I was that young. I even look young which kills me. i know I have a good life and a GREAT support system, but it kills me how my father & mom killed what I could have had. Ex, I had a nice trust fund very nice which they hid from me and I could have used it for a nice down payment on a house. I never knew I had it and when I lost my job, had no health insurance I was told look what you have. So I dipped and dipped and used for health insurance which of course was more important to me at the time then buying a house. DH had no savings when we got married.

We bought our house exactly a month before our wedding.

My Dh moved in a week before our wedding and I moved in when we returned from our HM.

We (actually DH) closed on our home 2 weeks before he proposed... according to him, he had a 'plan' all along

Started looking before the wedding... wanted to be in it before the wedding.... ended up closing 3 weeks after returning from the HM. I told DH the other day, we are not newlyweds we're homeowners.

our wedding day was September19th, we closed on the 21st (my birthday), then went on our honeymoon the next day, then moved in the day after we returned from the honeymoon.

We started looking about 4 and a half months after the wedding and finally closed 4 months later. SO all done within the same year, before my 9 month anniversary.

We closed on our house in September and we got married in April.
We gutted the entire house, and didn't move in until May 2nd when we got back from our Honeymoon.

We purchased our home 2 years before our wedding, 1 year prior to our engagement.

We found our house 6 months after our wedding but didn't close until we were married 11 months.

I bought my house about three years before I even met DH. We're still here, and thinking of moving or expanding since we have a baby on the way.

We bought our house in October 2000. Got engaged in December 2000, married in May 2002.

We brought the house a year before we got engaged. We knew we were going to get married and we had the money then so we decided to do it then..best decision i ever made (besides saying yes to DH).

Married in July 2003, bid accepted June 2004 moved in September..

Went into contract before the wedding but closed about 1 month after the wedding
