When did it feel 'real'?

When did it feel 'real'?

Only 9 days left!

My mom called yesterday and said the FG is being treated for pneumonia, but the little trooper sounded like she was well on the road to recovery on the phone tonight....screaming about how much she's been 'practicing her petal tossing' in between coughs. So cute!

Now that all the little bits and pieces are coming together it finally feels like this wedding is really going to happen - but it still feels somewhat surreal. How long before the wedding did all of you hit that moment of 'wow, I'm actually getting married soon'?

That is so cute about your FG!!

I am not sure that feeling has hit me yet..but the stress definitely has! My stomach is in knots and I have a jittery excited/nervous thing going on!!

Plus throughout all this planning I never gave a second thought to the weather, and now the first blizzard of the year will be happening this weekend!

What can you do, right?!

In my personal experience... it hit me just after my MOH walked out and the church doors closed so i can prepare myself to walk out then my dad grabbed a hold of me and thats when the water works began and it hit me ... it really hit me that daddy is giving his little girl away and im getting married.. i am going to be someones wife... .. i can relive that moment as if was just yesterday and to think it was 9 months since i have been married...

My only advice.. is take a moment to take it in, dont let anything or anyone mess up your and DH's day.... and remember no matter what someone will always have something to say about something.. let it go in one way and out the other..

Enjoy your day ..

I think parts of it will feel surreal even on your wedding day. It's not the kind of thing that happens to anyone regularly (we hope!) so you can't possibly prepare yourself or predict how you're going to feel. That's why it's important to stop every so often and take it all in. Start in the morning, look around the room at all your BMs and make sure you have fun and relax with them while you get ready. Then take a few minutes with your family and take in the moments before you walk down the aisle. Look around at all your guests as you come down - it's an amazing feeling to see everyone there for you! Then definitely take a minute with your new DH in the room all set up for the reception before everyone else comes in. It's so great to see everything come together and take in all the little details that you'll gloss over once you're out on the dance floor!

When I started the dress alterations like 3 weeks before the wedding, that's when it hit me

I got married 3 weeks ago and it still doesn't feel real to me.

It was so weird when the Rabbi said 'I now pronounce you husband and wife' because I didn't feel like I was a 'wife'
Throughout the ceremony I was thinking your same question and wondering when it would feel 'real'!

I had been excited all morning - I'm getting married - awake at 4am, didn't have to leave the house until 6:30, even the rainstorm didn't bother me.
Photog got a picture of me bopping around right before the processional was to begin. I was having fun.
It wasn't until I heard MY music start to play and the doors opened for me that it really hit me and felt real. Got that weak in the knees feeling and couldn't look at anyone while I was going down the aisle. Just focused on Mike.

Hope your FG gets better soon. Sounds like nothing is going to stop her.
My niece the FG was so excited that she was giggling the entire time she walked down the aisle. Hope that the videographer got that on tape.

I feel the same way!
I did have the 'oh my God' feeling at the rehearsal just before my Dad and I walked down the aisle. The DO I was soooo calm it was strange!

I still have moments where I'm like, 'OMG, we're married.'

it felt most real when family started arriving for the big day---my aunt and uncle from peru, friends from west virginia, south carolina, virginia. once they were having to be picked up at the airports--i thought 'holy shiit--ppl are paying MONEY and traveling HUNDREDS or THOUSANDS of miles to see us get married and celebrate! this is REALLY happening!'

Re: When did it feel 'real'?

It started to hit me when I got into the limo on the way to church. Then at church right before they opened the doors and my brother, mother and me started the walk down the aisle.... it hit me like a ton of bricks! I was so emotional. Just seeing everyone at church and looking at my husband. It was a great feeling!

And even now, over a month later, it seems surreal. Sometimes I'll look down at my ring finger and think 'hey, I'm married!'

It wasn't until the day of...haha...i was laughing at the rehearsal saying ' I feel like i am watching a movie of someone else's rehearsal'...i guess cause it took me 34 years to finally have it happen? haha

It felt real the moment I pulled into the parking lot at my RH & 3 photographers & 2 videographers ran towards my car shoving their lenses in my face.... I thought, holy cow, I am getting married today

awww so cute about your FG. I remember the moment it felt real to me and it was when I pulled up to the church and saw everyone piling in. They couldn't see me in the limo I could just see what was going on around me and I was like oh my god I am getting out of this limo in 5 seconds and getting married!!! It was a great feeling that I will NEVER forget.

When we were down the aisle and when we said our vows...walking down was the most surreal experience!

It hit me when I walked out of my house and thought my car had been stolen the morning of the wedding! It didnt really hit me until then when i thought it was going to ruin the whole day after that it was when I was dressed and ready to go.

I was so calm the day of the wedding... it really didn't feel like I was getting married that day! The day flew by... so I think it 'felt real' in the HM suite on our wedding night!

the week before my wedding i was an emotiona;l wreck - the littlest thing set me off into a fit of tears but the day of i was so calm that i actually surprised myself - through out the day just take a few minutes every so often to just sit back and take it all in - it is the most amazing feeling!!!
