When did you pay the balance on your dress?

My dress is in, but my wedding is not until September.

I may have them change the top of my dress (from a tank style to off-the-shoulder), which is why it is in so early.

Anyway, when do I pay the balance? I assume I should pay when all of the changes/alterations are done, right?

The shop that I am considering buying my dress from wants 50% as a down payment and the other 50% at the first fitting

mine wants it at pickup.... the BM dresses though, they wanted w/i a month of their arrival at the suite.... i think they've gotten burned b4 in the past w/BM dresses.......

I would think this is up to the Bridal shop, and what they request of you, you must have a contract.--good luck

I had to pay the balance at my first fitting.

I believe we paid when we picked it up.

My wedding is in Sept, too and I paid the balance when it arrived, which was a few months ago. Now the store is keeping it for me until the wedding. I will go in for fittings closer to the date.

I paid half when I placed the order. Then half of the balance due at each fitting with the final balance (in cash) when I picked it up. My dress was delivered in June and they held it for my sept. wedding.

I pay the balance of the dress at my first fitting and any alteration costs when I finally take it home.

I had to pay at my first fitting. And it's been the same policy for all the BM dresses I've ordered in the past.

I had to pay for the dress in full within 60 days from when it arrived at the store.

my mom bought it & paid it in full when I chose it

We paid for the entire shebang at once when we ordered it. It came a month later.

I got my dress at Estelle's in Farmingdale. They don't do alterations but recommend seamstresses. I'd paid the balance on my dress when it arrived in the store. I got the alterations done elsewhere. I'd paid the balance on the alterations when the actual work was all done. Thus, it was two separate fees.

We were supposed to pay the balance at my first fitting. They had some problems with the register that night so we're paying the balance on my next fitting.
