Yes, ettiqute wise you have to invite everyone at the EP to the wedding. My parents threw the party and clogged the list with their friends too -- we ended up inviting 116 people because just 30 of them were my parents' friends!!! To be fair, they paid for it also, lol. But yeah, I expect that these same people will end up on my wedding invite list. On the plus side, they're the ones who give the big checks ;D Since they're not your friends/family/etc. I would certainly double check with your FMIL just to make sure she wants them invited to the wedding

I didn't even think about the big checks *****! But double checking is a good idea. Thanks for all the advice, I'm so bad at all this. I typically don't plan parties in general so this has been an experience.

No problem! I didn't have much experience myself going into this and it helped that my FH's best friend/best man and his fiance just had an engagement party last year. We hit them up for A LOT of advice. I also tried seeking advice on other forums before I ended up here and many other places were just nasty when I asked questions. Once I found this board where the people are not only helpful but super friendly, I knew I wanted to help pass along info :) Good luck with your engagement party and asking your bridesmaids!!!

When did you pick your bridesmaids?

i'm getting married in may 2016 and i asked my bridal party this month! I went online and made puzzles that had a picture with my bridesmaid and i and a cute little poem, which i then mailed to their houses! It was a big hit! I also sent them to the flower girls as well.

When did you pick your bridesmaids?

I am also getting married in 2016. A couple of my friends know they are going to be bridesmaids but no one else knows. I do not plan on officially asking anyone until probably sometime next year. Everyone is telling me to not ask too far out in advance.
