do you wait until the RSVP date has passed so that you have a close-to-accurate count? or did you purchase them early and just buy more than you need based on how many people you expect? we are inviting 240 and hoping for 180-200. so i was going to buy 200 and call it a day but what if i end up needing more?? is it better to just wait and then spend the last month before my wedding assembling?

Good question!
I am planning on buying the boxes for my edible favors soon (in the next month or so) based on how many I *expect* to attend the wedding. Will buy the chocolates for them a few weeks before the wedding to lessen the risk of melting etc.

I bought mine last nov. and my wedding was in march. I think if you find a good deal take it. If you have a few extra favors its not too bad... I gave my extras to ppl I had invited that did not attend but sent us a gift or a card. I also kept a few extras for myself.

I bought mine 7 months before the wedding b/c I got a really good deal on them. I think I am going to have about 30 extra favors but I don't mind. They are dishes so I can always give them out as x-mas gifts or something.

I am inviting the same amt as you (240) and hoping for the same amt as you. I ordered 200 favors to get it out of the way. If I need to order more later on I guess I will but for now I am basing my counts on everything for 200 people.

We bought our favors the day after Christmas to get the sale...we purchased ornaments. We purchased more than our guest list, but since they are not personalized, we can keep the extras for our own tree.

i bought mine already....I give them the final count in December.... I don't care if I have some extra....they're platters...I'll have some in my bathroom holding soap if need be LOL

i had bought ours long before our wedding.. i estimated how many i needed. We did coasters. So the leftovers we have I can use when we entertain and I'll give some extras to my family...

i am also thus far basing things on 200 people. i guess im just nervous about having MORE than 200 guests - i dont think id mind having leftover favors. im just trying to do the math

i purchased extra (based on the actual # of people invited) because i liked them so much, i want to use the leftover ones in my house! these are my favors:
I bought mine 6 months ago, they were on sale couldn't resist and I didn't want to risk being out of stock..

My mom is nuts!! She purchased all my favors....BEFORE I WAS ENGAGED. Not only that but she had the wedding date printed on them!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank goodness it worked out. Maybe she knew something I didn't at the time.
