how early can i send out invites? april 11 wedding - the reason i ask is that i have lots and lots of DIYs that depend on the number of people coming...what do you ladies think?

I am an April bride as well.. I don't know exactly when I am sending mine out, but I will be ordering them next week. I think the rule of thumb is 2 or 3 months before the wedding..?? I could be dead wrong..but I'm just not up to that yet. I too am doing tons of DIY...the way I look at it, it's better to have too much then not enough... so at least you can start on the projects.... JMO

figure your rsvp is going to be 3-4 weeks before right?
so i plan on sending out ours 4-6 weeks before the rsvp date. HTH

I think the rule is 2 months before the wedding date and the rsvp date should be about 1 month before the wedding date. I'm sure you can send them out a little earlier if it makes you feel more comfortable but I'm sure there are still going to be some people that do not RSVP on time. How annoying is that!

my sister is having that problem too. she sent her invites out 2 months before the wedding, an the RSVP date was october 1st. and she is still confirming people. i would give yourself some time. maybe send them about 2 1/2-3 months before and maybe a month and a HALF before as the RSVP date.

I am sending out mine two months before. This way I have time to sit and call people who don't respond on there own. If you sent out STD's than you can send them out 1 month before because everyone will already have the date saved.

I am planning to do mine between 2-3 months. I'd like to have the RSVP date like a month and a half before the wedding... Some people in my family are usually late with RSVP's so I think it would be better that way in my case.
