When do I buy my wedding dress? My one friend from work says right away. But my other friend,Gina got it, it was altered, and it was ready to go in 6 months. My weight fluxuates so I wanted to wait. What do I do?

I haven't ordered min yet but I was told by a bridal salon 8 - 10 months prior.

I also got married in September and ordered my dress in February and it came in in July- allow yourself minimum 6 months to order it. Good luck!

I didn't want to order my dress until a year before the wedding, but I went to go look at gowns, and I found the dress that I love. My weight fluctuates (sp) as well, so I am a little nervous.. I was a little sketchy at first about buying the gown, but then when I went to go try it on again, it was $100 off so I bought it.. I think whenever your ready, but I would defintatly start looking a year ahead because it can take anywhere from 6-10 months to be ready.. GOOD LUCK

I just ordered mine, its a PC Mary's dress. It will take about 4-6 months to come in. I ordered it at Centereach Bridal Suite. I saw it there about 2 years ago and fell inlove. My FMIL put a deposit ($50) to hold it, in case it got discontinued. The price went up about $150 since then but we got it for the lower price. Not sure what other stores do this, but it saved me money.
PS The price of the dress went up on the website for PC Mary's too, not just in the store.
