I was wondering what experiences everyone has had with responses. We got a ton of responses in the beginning but only get about 2 per day now. We still have something like 40 people who have not responded and the due date is this Saturday. When we ask people they say they laugh and say they will get them back to us eventually, like it's all a big joke. Has this happened to other people? Do alot of people usually miss the RSVP date?

I'm in the EXACT same situation!!!! My due date is today and I'm missing 44 rsvps (72 adults, 2 kids). Everyone missing will be called by Sunday - I'm not going to stress myself out simply because people can't get their sh*t together! It's so annoying though!!!

A lot of people think that as long as they send them back by the RSVP date, it is OK...I mean it's true, they have til that date to reply but I dont think they get it that we need to know ASAP. DH and I ended up calling about 20 people after the RSVP date came and went. Some people we had to hunt down and call 2 or 3 times! One guest put his RSVP card in the wedding card he gave us at the wedding LOL I started off emailing people about the RSVPs

Many of the responses I didn't get were family! So I was sneaky and asked other family members via email for their email info or phone numbers so I could find out if they were coming. Email was a huge help - having conversations with all of those peopl would have been a huge time-suck.

Some of mine were sent back right away, then just a couple came each day. There were a handful that we had to call because they did not feel the need to reply by the requested date.
My boss was one, he said 'we haven't decided if we are coming or not'. If I had the nerve, I would have told him not to bother.
