It's a matter of preference. Some girls use the 'Loop' and hold it in their hand for the first dance. Some girls get the bustle before they get introduced.

i'm doing it before entering the reception so i don't have to disappear to do it or have my MOH doing it in front of everyone...there's just too much dress for me to hold anyway.

I walked into the reception with my dress bustled.

I have a detachable train and then no bustle. I am going to wait till after the first dance then take the train off.

Usually rule of thumb is after the 1st dance,, which is what im doing ,

Our first dance is choreographed with lots of turns, there is no way I want to take a chance with the train, so mine will definitely be bustled before entering the reception.

I did it right after the ceremony.

My train is detachable also. I'm going to take it off after the first dance

I did it after the ceremony I think.... it didnt help though - I still tripped all over the place!!!

I did mine before my entrance but you could do it after your first dance if you want.

I did it after my first dance and let me tell you what a pain the the butt it was!
My MOH and SIL were behind me trying to find the little threads in an all lace gown while the priest was saying grace..................BUT...................

I wouldn't trade the shot of my very long train sweeping across the entire dancefloor when we were announced into the reception..

Did mine after our first dance or rather after the toasts which immediately followed the dance...Love how it looks in pics!

Thats what I did too. I wanted to do it right after the ceremony, but my bridal attendant kept telling me to wait. It was kind of annoying but I am sure it will look great in pics!
I was so much more comfortable after it was bustled.
