My wedding is in 4 months and I have no idea when I need to go for my 1st fitting.
I want to wait as long as possible since I am losing weight! So far I have lost 18-20 pounds (it varies day to day), and I am hoping to lose another 15-20 by the wedding.
Clearly, going for a fitting right now wouldn't be the best idea, but I don't know when i need to go for it.....HELP!!!!

Re: When do you go for 1st fitting
First fitting is about 1 to 1 1/2 months prior. Remember you will only have about 3 (maybe 4 ) fittings from start to finish. Has the salon you bought your dress from called to tell you its in? They should have set up your first fitting then-if not give them a call and try and set something up

No, I was silly and bought my dress at David's Bridal and I bought it early....my gown was ready to be picked up in February! I refused to get it until April since that was when it was supposed to be in! They never set up an appointment or told me when I should get it done....I think 1.5-2 months sounds perfect! I will call them!
Thank you!

ah I see, definitely give them call-dont let them bully you into waiting only a few weeks before definitely not later then the middle of October should be your first fitting.

Re: When do you go for 1st fitting
I'm having my first fitting this Saturday, which is exactly 2 months before the wedding. I think 6 weeks before is a good time to start though.

Re: When do you go for 1st fitting
my dress is really big on me - so i would like to do my first fitting 2 months before just in case something goes wrong the dress is REALLY big on me so i think it will take them a few times to get it perfect for me...i could be wrong but i rather have plenty of time for them to get it right

I guess big on you is a good thing, so congrats! I am not sure how mine is going to be. We ordered it a little small, so when it came in and I tried it on, it fit perfectly. I have lost 8 pounds since then, but I just started really watching again this week, so it should come off quickly from now on.
I will set it up for 2 months out just to be on the safe side!
