hi,

i just went to get mine a few days ago...what i dont understand is every town hall is different. i went to town of hempstead and they needed mine and FHs birth certificate which he doesnt have because he was born in turkey and they couldnt read it anyways!! But i went to the town of north hempstead and they just needed a passport and drivers license from both of us!!

you can go to any town office in ny state.

Even though it should be uniform throughout the state, each town hall is different. Some require two proofs of identification while others require one. Also, some may accept different forms of payment and NYC charges more for a license. I would call the town hall where you plan on going beforehand to find out their specific requirements.

i went 4 days before the wedding! you don't really have to rush.

We just went today we just needed BC and license.
