When do you go for first fitting for your bridal gown?

I'm just curious. I ordered my dress 4 months ago and I haven't heard anything.Do they call you when the dress comes in or do they just call you when its time for the first fitting? When is the first fitting usually? I'm going to call them tomorrow just to make sure that my order is okay. I'm not getting married until November but I want to be sure nothing happened with my order.

I would call to check with them to see when your dress should be in. My store called me to let me know that it had arrived and I went in the next week to see it (plus it gave me an excuse to try it on again!) but my fittings won't be until the month before.

Is your place keeping the gown through the whole thing? Or do you have to take it home before the first fitting? Mine is due in this week and I don't know if I leave it there until the first fitting, which probably won't be until August?

I guess the store holds it until right before the wedding but I'm not sure. I called the store to see if my order ever came in. They said they would look and call me back. Hmmmmm?

November I am getting worried too! Mine is two months late. I was at Saks the other day for my sister's wedding dress , and they told me second week in June....I really feel like I need to see it again. I kind of dont' even remember it!

It took six months for my gown to come in. They called me when it came in. It just arrived this weekend and I saw it.
I scheduled my first fitting for 7 weeks before the wedding. They told me that they need at least 6 weeks for at least 2 fittings.

It took about 7 months for my dress to come in...they only sent a postcard.

I went for my first fitting 5 weeks before wedding...and the second will be 2 1/2 weeks before...and I don't think I will need another one, but I guess 1 1/2 weeks before...

If you told them a different date (to make sure you got eveything in time) give them the real date, so you have more time ...

I ordered my dress in Feb. for my Oct. 2002 wedding. They told me it should be in - in Aug. I emailed my mfg a few weeks after I placed my order and checked that my order was placed.

MY FSIL is getting married in early August and her dress came in about two weeks ago and went that same week for her first fitting. They told her she was early! Only two months prior to her wedding, go figure!
