It depends on the designer, but if you order more than 4 months out, you should be fine. We just ordered mine last week.

Delivery times vary by desinger and store so you'd have to check by that timeline- normally it's 5-7 months before.
I had the ladies order theirs from David's Bridal and they had theirs within a month.

I ordered mine in January for an October wedding. They can take anywhere from 3-6 months to come in and then you need 2-3 weeks for alterations.

my wedding is in feb 09 and I started looking a few weeks ago... They say I have till june to order so they dont have to ruch making it

6 months befroe some people go early but the later the better especially if your friends are thinking, trying or are pregnant (you want the most accurate size ordered).
