If I left the decision to FH he would have had kids like last week lol we both really have baby fever right now, big time! We said we'd take the 'Whatever happens, happens' approach for the first year. If it doesnt happen in that time then we will actively TTC.

FH and I plan to wait 2-3 years before trying, but I'd be more than happy to have one a bit sooner! I've always wanted to have children immediately, but FH and I decided that we want to enjoy marriage for a little bit before bringing someone new into the world!

Please don't think I'm saying 'I HATE KIDS' ... I have many issues that I can't bring a child into. FH has alcoholism, we're going to be renting forever; I don't own a house by now at 35, it's not happening for us. Trust me. Also a HUGE factor that sounds really selfish and silly. PAIN. I can't handle a blood test, there's no way I could go through that agony.
Ugh! I feel your pain - I'm 37 (will be 38 two wks after the wedding) and FH is 35. Our finances leave a lot to be desired and I can't see us EVER owning a home (especially on LI). Alcoholism on both sides and depression on mine.
Trouble is, we both WANT children but I just don't see how it's possible. Everyone keeps telling me you're never going to feel ready (financially) and once it happens, everything falls into place. Unfortunately that's not enough for me - I don't want to feel that I am struggling for the rest of my life and I certainly don't want it to affect my children - I know what it's like growing up poor and it *****!

il be 31, and he 36. I want to wait about a year or so... and I dont want to 'try' per se. I will just go off BC and 'see what happens'. If no luck after several months, then we will start 'trying'...

If it were up to me, we would start trying in a year from now..... but FH says he is not at all ready and wants to wait a few years (like 3-4).
I really can't complain though. I'm 23 and he's 26 so we're still young. But I am the motherly nurturing type. I really can't wait to TTC. Last night, we actually were at Barnes and Noble and we were in the pregnancy and parenting section looking at a baby name book!! He's seeing it as more of a reality now that we sorta picked out names. He's actually hoping for a boy! Which is a step up for not hoping for anything

i'll be 30 in september and dh will be 37 in november. We'll probably start trying at the end of NEXT summer.

Our baby just graduated from High School last weekend and moved out the weekend before... FH has empty nest thing going on I told him NO!!! We lived through one lets not do it again. In cae you didnt know we have been together for YEARS.....

By the time we get married I'll be 33 and FH will be 34. We've been talking alot about babies lately. At first we agreed to wait a year and then 2 weeks ago he was like why don't you just stop taking BC after the wedding.
I think we're going to wait the year for a number of reasons. First..we have a weird living situation...FH owns his house but his mom occupy's the main part of it and we will live in the basement apt. Second, I'm a contractor so I'd like to be in a permanent position before I have a child so I know I have a job to come back to. So the plan is for me to get permanancy either at my current job or find a permanent job and then in a year for us to decide whether we want to put an extension on his house, building an apt. upstairs for us or use all the $$ we save on a new house.
See the can of worms talking about babies opens for us....it was exhausting just to type it.

We're waiting at least two years...but I don't want to wait too long for DH's sake. I'm 29 & he's 36 tomorrow and I don't want him to feel 'too old' to have kids by the time that i'm think I may be ready. We are still verrrry selfish right now in terms of our leisure time and not prepared to have to settle down lol
