When do you really need to go look at BM dresses?

Just trying to figure out what my final count for BM's are and just wanted to know what my 'deadline' is?

My girls and I went BM dress shopping in early Jan 2005. We ordered their dresses last week and they will not arrive until late May 2005. So it will take 4 months. If they need alterations it will take some more time. I figure if your wedding is late August 2006, then you should start looking in September 2005 and aim to purchase them in Nov. 2005 to Feb 2006 but no later than early March 2006.

Went looking 8 months prior, ordered 6.5 months prior. Thank god I did it early because the girls are cutting it close with fittings. I also gave the bridal shop a different date for my wedding to make sure all the dresses were done in time.
