When do you send thank you's?

Some invited guests who are not attending our wedding have sent gifts. When is the proper time to send thank you's? after the wedding (which means they won't receive it for a while) or immediately? Might sound like a silly question. Thanks.

When do you send thank you`s?

are you sending your thank yous with photos? if so, you will have to wait (which I think most people understand). Or you can send the card right away and then send a photo later. If they are not able to attend, I'm sure they will want to see a picture. If not, I think you can send the thank you right away, gets the task out of the way. Just make sure you keep a checklist.

Hi A, Send them as you get them. When i got engagment gifts, i sentout thank you's immediately for them. if people are giving you gifts now, send them a thank you note now, and then a thank you with your picture later on, after your wedding. Good luck! --Heidi

I won`t be sending a picture with my thank you`s so I think I will send them out to those that send wedding gifts before the wedding(and are not attending). The main reason I was wondering was because I was looking forward to sending out my wedding thank you`s, they are much nicer than the cards I would use before I`m married. The reason why there is a difference is because our wedding thank you`s have my new name.

You could still use those cards after the wedding, to let friends know your new address if there is one, and just to drop a nice note letting them know that you missed them and were thinking of them on your wedding day. It's a good way to let them know that you will be changing your name.
