When do you think you'll open your cards/gifts? And, who will go home with them??

When do you think you'll open your cards/gifts? And, who will go home with them??

I think we'll open the next day, after breakfast, at my parents house.

I also think that I will send my mom home with all of the cards and gifts. (I don't think my parents are staying at the hotel because they'll have the dogs at their house).

They're coming with us and we'll either open them that night in our hotel room (if we're not really tired) or the next morning.

definitely the next day...i'm sure we will be way too tired after the wedding.

BUT my brother and SIL did it that night in their hotel room, and she said it was like the scene from indescent proposal in the hotel bed when demi moore is rolling around in all the money. lol...that musta been cool.

LMAO!!! That's awesome.

The only reason we won't do it that night, is because I know my mom wants to be there to help us, and I know the two of us would mess something up.

It's going to have to be like a chain, one opens, one counts, and one records!!! LOL

my dad is awesome - for my brother and sister he took home all the cash and the next day he had a list all ready for them with the names and who gave how much ( we use this as a reference for future weddings ) and he deposits the money!!

That's pretty sweet.

Yeah, one of my good friends got married a couple years ago, and, when another friend gets married, I always ask her what they gave her, to use as a reference!

lol DH and i opened them all up that nite. but that was because we had a daytime wedding---so once the after party was done we were back in our hotel room around 10 or 11 pm and we changed into our jammies and read every single card. we did it mostly cause we really wanted to read what ppl wrote and stuff in the cards...plus we wanted to go to the bank before we left for our HM rather than leave the $$ with family or something

We plan on having 1 day between the wedding and the HM so we'll probably open them on that day, alone. I haven't really thought about who will take them home... I just assumed we'll have 'em with us.

we want to open them and read all the cards that night in our hotel room.. we leave for our HM the next day and we want to be able to put all the money in the bank right away before we leave.

Our HM flight leaves at 8am the next morning so we are going back to our apt (in my parents house) right after the wedding.

We wil open gifts and get it all ready for my perents to deposit then go to a hotel near the airport right after that.

We dont want to wait until after the HM b/c FMIL doesnt think we should leave it til that long. i think she just wants to know how much we got.

After we said we were going back to our apt- she was like- 'oh- do u want us to follow u back there and pick up the gifts to deposit.'?

Im lik- no- my parents can do it- we will let you know what for family gave as gifts though--lol

ill ask my mama to take them home - we will probably have a brunch with the family the next day - so then? we'll be too 'busy' and tired that night
