I think we will open the cards that night or the next morning in the hotel room. I think it will be really nice for it to be just the two of us reading all the things people have to say.

We'll probably take them with us back to the hotel, and either open them that night...or the next night when we get home. We're not leaving for the HM until Monday morning...so, we'll have all day Sunday...

At the wedding I have two cops looking after my box (relatives) due to the rise in theft at weddings.

The money comes with us - then before the after party we will have it put away at a safe location which I will not say and then that morn after breakfast we open, write down, either keep the cards or toss and deposit that day. Yes it is a bit tacky to depo the next day but honestly I rather do it right away so I don't have cash and money laying around until I get back the following week.

Thank you's get sent out as soon as those cards are delivered to me also. I am not one to put off things because I know I will never do them then.

It's NOT a bad thing to deposit the next day!!!! people who write checks shouldn't have to wonder when they'll clear! It's happened to me, and it's AWFUL!
I don't keep track of when things gets cashed, as I RARELY write checks. I had the money in the bank, when I wrote the check, but, it was like, well over a month later, and I didn't have the money in the bank to cover it anymore. of course, THEN they cashed it! it was very embarrassing, for both of us...now, I only give money orders, they're paid for in advance!!!

our FMIL and FFIL will take everything home b/c we live in their neighborhood. So the next morning after we leave the hotel we will open them then. i just want it to be my FH and i b/c i dont want my FMIL seeing what my family gives and vise versa.

They are coming with us to the hotel room too!

prob the next day after brunch-- we'll need to start depositing Monday for the HM

We are leaving our RH at midnight and catching an 8am flight the next morning so my guess is wee will open them when we get back from the honeymoon

Good question! No idea. We have 1 day before outr honeymoon. We'll probably bring them back with us and open them then (before the honeymoon).
