I am hearing its usually sent 6-8 weeks in advance. my fam thinks that crazy that i should send it sooner esp since i didnt send save the dates. what do you ladies think?

I would say two months is good. But maybe because you didn't do save the dates maybe three months just to be safe? Are you getting married around a holiday or on the weekend? It will give people enough time to get off of work and set up traveling needs if they have too.

We did ours 2 months before, you don't want to do it too far in advance or people may forget/lose the invite.

I say 8-10 weeks before the wedding is a good time, because you should have the RSVP date for like 1 month before the wedding so this will give your guests a month to 6 weeks to get them back to you.

10 weeks at least if you havent sent out save the dates i think. Ask for an rsvp a month before your wedding, so you have time to contact any stragglers who havent sent back the rsvp, it'll be around the time the oot guests' deadline to book there hotels, and you'll have time to contact your venue with final numbers.
Word of advice, work on your invites as soon as you can if you are having them custom done/tweaked as I'm learning the hard way right now!
